OKAY I'll settle this dispute. All ff games were very good we all have our opinions and it's your right to voice your opinion. I got it and wasn't very fond of it at first but given some time I came to love it. Iam not telling anyone what to do iam just saying try it don't try it the choice is yours.
Have not yet played this game. Man does that chick look sexy waving that gun around...well for a CGI chick haha. Anyway, this looks to have some flashy graphics for sure but I wonder how good is the story? Ive enjoyed all the Final Fantasy's from 4-12 so i have yet to try this...Im still working on 12 and do not yet own a PS3. Final Fantasy 6 is my favorite of all though with Final Fantasy 12 so far closin into that spot...absolutely love it and think ill give this a try :P

FFVI is the best one so far, it's got one of the best worlds, one of the best stories, the most deep characters and the best villain ever in the series. I don't see why SquareEnix didn't present us with a great remake of this epic title yet.

@theconverter square enix has only anounced it for the PC, however, FFXI was originaly for the PC, and then came to the PS2 and the XBOX360. ps2 is out now, so maybe they make a port for the ps3 and the xbox360 :)

I've completed four chapters so far and still the game isn't what I hoped for. The most annoying thing is the monotonous game design.
Cutscene - A few battles - Cutscene - A few battles - Cutscene - A few battles etc.
I really hope this changes soon, I can't take it anymore! If the battles at least weren't so unncessary long. Only boss battles are supposed to take long, but here almost every battle takes a lot of time.

@lonnyboy101 My favourite FF game so far was FFX and I really crecommend that one to you. I'm not so much fan of FFI to FFVI, but that's a matter of taste I guess.
Also FFXIII finally got a bit more exciting with the fifth chapter. It's still monotonous, but the battles are shorter and more exciting, the levels are (only a little bit) better and I've gotten used to the new battle system, the new features and the fact, that FFXIII IS just one battle after another.
Play on, and soon the 'linear' gameplay will vanish ^^. The first 40 - 50% of the game is quite linear after that the 'Final Fantasy freedom' will be back :)

Would have been one of my favourite games if not for 1 hit kill bosses, and weird difficulty curve, although my characters may have been underlevelled for the difficulty curve, but still no boss should be able to kill you in one hit at any point, that's just not even giving you a chance by saying there is always a chance the boss will OHKO and you can do nothing to stop it, but aside from that great game.

I love the theme that this opening has, however, it lacks one theme that always include in every Final Fantasy Series Opening or Ending theme. The theme in which played in every FF series.

Wow dude u must be a fan boy, of course the ps3 version looks stunning and beautiful, its done on blu ray and only on 1 disc. While the xbox version looks beautiful also, but it takes 3-4 discs from what i read,im pretty sure if the xbox added maybe 1 or 2 more it would be just like the ps3, but arguing about 1080p and not understanding the encoding process makes you sound so ignorant
@kiwiskilled I dunno man, alot of people in North America have been bad mouthing this game without even trying it yet, I was hesitant based on what I heard, but this game is actually one of the best FF Ive played in a long time. definitely worth the price on it. Id put this one as right behind 6 and 8 as my personal favorite ones.

Are the crew of FF XIII hoping us to understand the story from it's OP? If that so, they're failed IMO. This opening only showing off an ultimate graphics & the music even not better than any other FF...Have no meaning after all....

I dont get it why does this opening cinematic look like a RETROSPECTIVE, its like i'm being shown things which i should be familiar with yet am not, like i'm being presented with nastalgia for things i've never seen or experienced: who are these people, why am i excited by them! I DONT KNOW!

@adhinarayana agreed. They did this in VIII also. Totally stupid and misguided. All it does is ruin the cinematics prematurely for you. None of this is compelling because we haven't played the freggin game yet idiots.

I remember back in FF7 and FF8, those were the graphics during the cutscenes, now you finally PLAY the cutscenes graphics.

Would have been one of my favourite games if not for 1 hit kill bosses, and weird difficulty curve, although my characters may have been underlevelled for the difficulty curve, but still no boss should be able to kill you in one hit at any point, that's just not even giving you a chance by saying there is always a chance the boss will OHKO and you can do nothing to stop it, but aside from that great game.

Considerando che è il primo FF a cui gioco.. è strabiliante sia per il gameplay e la modalità di combattimento che per la grafica da urlo... piccoli difetti possono essere la curva di dufficoltà davvero sregolata e la poca esplorabilità... che però si compensa con le missioni secondari e l' esplorazioni con i chocobo, ma rimane comunque sia un colossal dei GDR e non come molte recensioni definiscono... la fine della saga, probabilmente l' inizio di un' altra.

I love the theme that this opening has, however, it lacks one theme that always include in every Final Fantasy Series Opening or Ending theme. The theme in which played in every FF series.

Is it not the gameplay that matters? Who really cares about the graphics. You're playing it, not just standing there staring at it. Are you gonna buy a game with sucky gameplay because it has great graphics? I didnt think so. (I'm not reffering to FFXIII, it has awesome gameplay and graphics)

Wow dude u must be a fan boy, of course the ps3 version looks stunning and beautiful, its done on blu ray and only on 1 disc. While the xbox version looks beautiful also, but it takes 3-4 discs from what i read,im pretty sure if the xbox added maybe 1 or 2 more it would be just like the ps3, but arguing about 1080p and not understanding the encoding process makes you sound so ignorant

They were talking about cutscenes that are fmv. The PS3 has it at full resolution while the 360 version is compressed to save disk space.

@kiwiskilled I dunno man, alot of people in North America have been bad mouthing this game without even trying it yet, I was hesitant based on what I heard, but this game is actually one of the best FF Ive played in a long time. definitely worth the price on it. Id put this one as right behind 6 and 8 as my personal favorite ones.
