I like Beck's music.. but.. he is about as talented as the Jonas Brothers in his singing and his guitar skills. He sucks as a guitar player and singer. Note that at 1:27, 2:30 and elsewhere he is way off key. My suspicion is that he rarely if ever rehearses - he NEEDS to.

If you werent a complete moron, you might understand that this song is in MYXOLYDIAN, meaning he can hit the m7, and have it sound amazing. that you call it off key just means you expect people to play their songs like the Jonas brothers, always the same. @futurfry I specifically said that he was NOT off key. I guess you had some preconceived idea in your head. Many guitarists do play constantly. Ironically Beck is not one of them. He has mentioned that he sometimes goes months without playing the guitar. Lastly, I am not the only one saying that there is a problem with his performance in this video. The vast majority of posters had a problem with it. And to cap it all off, he is one of those scientology nuts.

I didnt say he plays guitar all the time, performance rehearsal and simple rhythm guitar practice are incredibly different. What does it mean when you say someone should take vocal lessons? nothing to do with any Sea Change tour, he's just tired of having to sing all the time.

it wouldn't hurt to do some Odelay and Midnite Vultures numbers, those were pretty awesome albums.

he seems to mostly love One Foot in the Grave and Stereopathetic Soulmanure stuff (acoustic/country). He could play that as well.

Maybe if he mixed up songs more from different albums while performing, it would be more fun for him and not so much a burden.

What the hell kinda equipment is that? Drum machine and delay/looper? Anything else? Fucking cool stuff and great performance, I LOVE the way beck is not afraid to mix up and reinterpret old songs at live gigs! It really keeps things interesting, and puts music into perspective - songs are not as solid and rigid as we are led to believe.
