Thanks! I did everything on this, including the seat. Chose the Punisher logo because the bike is a hardtail and it WILL punish you...lol.
You can't tell in the vid, but the red of the eyes is ostrich print skin so they have some texture to them. The other leather is just oil pressed leather, like what you'd use for making civil war gear/tack. Chose the 'baseball glove' lacing cuz I wanted it to be bulky and stand out. Also coated the leather to protect it from the weather.
Yeah, I've had a few kick-starts and if there is one thing I refuse to suffer, is a kicker that won't start easy. I'm not about to be that poor guy in the parking lot kicking the shit out of his bike for 30 minutes while his leg goes numb.
If it's in decent shape, I don't blame you. The previous owner of mine made it kind of easy for me. It was at that state where it could have went either way, so I took advantage of the situation and went the chopper route.
NOW, that's english power. ONE KICK brothers, one kick. I must tell you that your bike is very very very beautiful. I hate to see the V engine all the time. This is the real deal old school chopper. Very cool.
I should read comments more often. Thank you very much. As I've said, I won't suffer a kicker that won't start on the first go. And with a Trumpet, there's no reason to have it either. They are truly great machines....though wiring for a positive ground always confuses me...lol
Nice chopper, one hint though before starting any old trumpy is to give a few kicks while operating the clutch just to break the clutch bonding giving you smoother gear changes. My 59 Thunderbird needs two or three. You can tell if its sticking 'cause there is load on the starter crank with the clutch operated...there shouldnt be...when the clutch lets go...there isnt!
Thanks! I had a guy interested in buying it ask me how I had the 'start-up' set up since quite a few home built bikes are different, hence the video. I appreciate the compliments guys. This bike took up my living room for a whole winter while I built it..lol
