I can't decide if I'd rather have this specific model (w/ ZO7 pack) or a C2 clone. I was thinking someday maybe I could build one up with new suspension, transmission, steering, brakes, diff, and engine. I don't give any of my fucks about spec sheets either.

I love the Corvette...... Ever since double-clutch transmissions, computer assisted traction control, etc,... came out there's been less and less true sports cars.

Corvette still captures the essence of pure enjoyment with RWD, loud monstrous engine and manual trans. I will own one someday :)

BTW, I believe just 29 GTRs were sold last month. Nissan is going to learn the hard way that the fastest track times on a track located on a different continent than the largest markets does not translate well to the consumers. Most car enthusiasts prefer a TRUE manual gear box. It has always been that way even though I prefer an automatic and DCT transmissions.

I was at a Nissan dealer recently picking up a part for a G35 coupe and saw a GTR. I personally don't like the looks.

The GTR is only QUICK 0-60 because of a 4K LC and AWD, period. After that the ZO6 and ZR1 pull away from it all day. The GTR took almost 3 years to beat an old ZR1 track time. Bravo! Tell me how that helps you when a base GTR pulls up next to a ZO6 or ZR1 on the street. If you forget the LC, you are dead meat. From a rolll, dead meat.

This Corvette has already beaten the GTR around Willow Springs raceway.in a cpmparo. Really your bringing up mpg in performance cars? You shouldn't have because it get's better fuel economy than the GTR.

That's a mule car, not an actual production car. It doesn't show the completion of an entire lap, just most of one. Brag about it once an actual production car produces that time. Where they film the entire lap timed. This video does not prove your statement.

@sw1000xg funny how it took nissan 3yrs to finally beat the ZR1. lol the 2010 Spev V who everyone thought would beat the ZR1 turned a humiliating 7:35. Just goes to show that the 7:26 Nissan claimed in 08 for the GTR was totally false and not a stock set up. Porsche went and bought a GTR in 09 and the best they could turn out of multiple laps was 7:37. The Z06 Carbon is expected to turn low 7:30s. The C7 ZR1 is already in the works. Poor Nissan, theyll be play'n catch up again.

The Spec V didn't do 7:35, a journalist for Best Motoring drove the Spec V and got 7:34 and there is a vid I can show you he didn't shift right or even drive the Spec V very well!!! And what was Nissans last great supercar...R34 1999 how many vettes since then C5 Z06, C6, C6 Z06, C6 ZR1. That's 10 years to make a good Vette nissan 3...

Actually it does, GT-R = 16/21 and Z06 = 15/25. "Slow as a fat dog"?? That's why it beats the GT-R in a straight line and in recent comparos with upgraded tires/brakes on a course as well. If you think the Z06 is "fat" compared to the GT-R then you have just further revealed you know NOTHING about cars except your bias.

Z06 = 3200lbs

GT-R = 3900lbs

Speaking of breaking, why is it the 1st gen GT-R gear box breaks after numerous launches using launch control?

Why people rag on the C4 is beyond me. The C4 was competing with the likes of Ferrari back in the 80's and helds it's own. My first car was a 1989 c4 6 speed and I drove it every. The most reliable comfortable car with incredible gas mileage and amazing performance. Adjustable suspension, 4 wheel abs disc brakes, tire pressure monitoring system and countless other features WAY ahead of it's time. The rheomagnetic suspension found on ferraris and many supercars? First found on the C5 vette.

The Corvette is an experience, not a hunk of metal that is assisted through corners by 500 different computers. You guys can keep your GTR's, because those are just overweight computer controlled nanny-state cars. Real enthusiasts base opinions on the experience, not the interior quality and performance numbers, however, the Z06 was fastest in this C/D test

@hotrod1273 Corvette promised a 600hp sports car, but they "accidentally" released the ZR1, a 638hp world class super car that's won countless comparison tests against rivals 3 or 4 times as expensive. Yeah, they really screwed up there...

I can understand that some people were underwhelmed with the C4 and C5 generations, but the C6 is the real deal. The only problems that anyone has with this car are seat issues (i think they're fine). Corvette has not underdelivered, it's exceeded expectations
