  • Wow!! Great job man!!

  • Bravo!

  • Except for Alex...This is the most accurate Broon's Bane Video on Youtube! Excellent Job.

  • the guy i feel most sorry for is alex lifeson. being surrounded by unbelievable talent like geddy and peart, lifeson is so underated for his artistic contributions to the band.

    great vid BTW

  • I had the Exit stage left music book at one point and lost it. Had the song figged out by chords and so many years later forgot em. You did a nice job here. Impressive.

  • Brilliant

  • I'm at a loss for words?????AWESOME

  • Nicely done. I definitely have to learn to play this at some point.

  • Alex would be proud

  • dude keep up the good work. ill song

    and fuck phonyowl.

  • oh my, that was a joy to watch from beginning to end... i have tried to play that over the years and you finally filled in some blanks... very nice!!

  • I wish I could play like that.

  • Very nice cover, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

  • but this isn't even how it sounds...

  • @dirk1861 read description

  • dude...your awesome

  • thank's for this version, i'm learning this piece and your video is being really useful to get your left hand positions

  • Great acoustic song by Alex Lifeson.

I've seen Rush many times and have yet to hear him play it.

Great playing; probably the best version I've seen to date.

  • You got that one, beautiful

  • Beautiful work! Love your right hand technique, so little wasted motion! That was a joy to watch and great to listen to!

  • Wow! Outstanding! I have been trying to play this for 20 years. You have it nailed!

    Great Job!!

  • cool

  • Phuck phonyowl, classical guitar is about the sound coming out of the instrument, not dogmatic views of structure and finger positions. That guy sounds like a music school lifer who has never seen the light of day much less a Rush show. If Alex was here, he'd kick your ass dude. I play this song on my Les Paul, but it never gets the proper tonal quality you've achieved here. Nice job.

  • Love that song! You nailed it! Awesome!

  • @phonyowl I'm a drummer, sorry see my other vids

  • @phonyowl Seriously? Were you even listening to him? Did you see him play those unusual chords and fingerpick right on time? You tell me what is a true classical guitar player, one that plays a song perfectly and with emotion, or one that disqualifies other players on a basis of pure preference?

  • @phonyowl Hey, if thoughout history people chose to use proper technique, jazz and many other genres would cease to exist. Miles davis was slapped on his wrist for playing wide vibrato during his lessons and look at bumblefoot playing with a thimble and jeff healey with a guitar on his lap.

  • @phonyowl I rather think you'll find that anyone who plays any instrument can play it anyway they like. There are no 'rules'. RZ2 can play this really well. It wouldn't matter if he played it with pair of surgical tweezers while the guitar was strapped onto the back of a turtle. It's an excellent rendition, nice one RZ2.

  • @phonyowl true humans don't act like a holes.

  • @phonyowl --- come on, man... who cares? This was very well done.

  • If this doesn't prove that Alex Lifeson is one of the best guitarists of all time....then I just don't know anymore! Amazing job man, almost flawless!

  • Complements. Beautiful.

  • Knocks mine into a cocked hat, fella!- Seriously well played

  • I have watched most all of the broon's bane covers on youtube and most of them sound very labored. Yours sounds like you are really feeling it!! Bravo brother! that kicked my ass!!!

  • that is awesome im buying a new guitar and watching this until i learn it

  • /watch?v=TIJBSR1JPQ8

    seriously.

  • Your trees intro -- you play F#m ... it's F#. Nitpicky. But you killed it.

  • Holy smokes I could listen to that all day... Great job.

  • ahhhh..I'm learning it now... great job...all you need is Neil on the drum kit behind you.

  • It sounds different from the original, but I actually like this one more.

  • Absolutely amazing. Well done man

  • That was great!!

  • Thanks for reminding me how to play this!! I haven't played in 6 years..LOL!! Friend me on FB!

  • Hey connorportraits...take the corn corn out of your rear end and enjoy what YouTube offers people to do: display what they enjoy doing, nothing more, nothing less. I enjoyed the piece very much and maybe one day he'll okay one of his own compositions, without any desire to please you!

  • Awesome man....

  • Wow. I practiced this song many times but never got it right. Great Job!!!

  • It's all good... but anyone can copy.... WRITE something that others would want to copy...like they did!!!!

  • Sweet!! I wish i had this as a ringtone.

  • Very very good job! I heard/saw nothing in your performance that differed from Alex Lifeson's. Well done.

  • from one guitarist to another - respect

  • It would be truly beneficial if you were to do a video tutorial on this tune. You did a fantastic job, and your rendition is right on, unlike some of the other versions on YouTube. Have a heart, please make a tutorial on this...

  • very nice!!! Congrats!

  • Very good!

  • Wow, that is pretty frickin' good

  • What's the tuning for this?

  • @bubbasock Probably standard, most of Rush uses standard tunings.

  • Right on man!

  • awesome job man!!! alex would be proud to watch this vid!!! also, 10 people must have justin bieber's pencil dick in thier mouth if they disliked this

  • Bravo! :o)

  • The producer of this album couldn't stand this (terry 'broon' brown),so he edited it from the start of 'The Trees' song, hence the title.

  • @0ua8 What was he thinking

  • Superb

  • Way to go brother.......ever hear Bumblefoots ''Guitars still suck''?

  • Awesome job bro!!

  • well played mr

  • Very nice....almost like Alex did!!! Great job.

  • Very well played and accuarate. Good job!

  • Excellent job. Very well done. Do you know where I can find a professional transcription of this song?

  • wicked great

  • well done, i thought it was exit stage left there for a minute

  • Totally awesome

  • Great job....

  • nice!!!

  • what kind of mic do you use?

  • well done. learned this song about 10 years ago also on a classical, it makes all the dif. again well done.

  • Absolutely dead on.

  • this is great, im goin to post another cover once ive cleared mine up a bit lol, this is perfect

  • Nice! thanks

  • awesome job...dead on!!

  • excelent use of both hands, both houses are represented. the force is strong

  • Best I've seen, other than Alex, very nice. This is the first real peice of music I learned on the acoustic--would like to try it on a classical guitar. I'm still trying to get mine to sound as good as yours--I'll be at it for a while.

  • Thought that was Alex sitting there. Very nice. Tight, together, not rushed, (no pun) and very well executed. I do the A chords with all three fingers, lets my pinky hit the G on the top E easier. I can't do it your way, LOL! Keep it up man! :)

  • lol

  • Excellent job, broseph! Well executed!

  • Excellent - a beautiful and difficult song done very well.

  • Awesome dude, good job !

  • that's a little faster than the recording isn't it?

  • Very nice!

  • awesome!

  • i go to This guy when i want to listen to broon's bane i also go here for. peaceful music, then after this is done, i listen to The trees because this fits perfectly, I dont know why they didnt start playing this little tune before the trees. woulda been great.

  • they did in the late 70's -80's

  • Excellent!

  • This is brilliant, great job!! You are extremely talented, you should be very proud of yourself! :-)

  • Great performance. I'm looking fro a decent TAB of Bromm's Bane, do you have one ?most of the one's I've found seem to be lacking...

  • wow.... Alex would be proud of your dedication. beautifully done. Rush was my first concert back in 1979 Signals tour

  • wow, that's so cool that you saw Rush on the Signals tour 3 years before that album came out.

  • hahaha

  • 79 was the Hemispheres tour. >_> Not the Signals tour.

  • Signals was 82. You mean Permanent Waves or Hemispheres?

  • good one

    :D

  • Beautifully done - from a life time devotee of Rush.

    Kudos to you!

  • Wow, much better than my version.

  • Wow. That was awesome. Alex Lifeson would be proud.

  • bloody good job, excelent, very nice one, loved it

  • cool

  • dude, that was crazy -- I thought I could play this cong, but I must have not figured out everything, because near the end you added some crazy stuff that I hadn't figured out at all. Could you tell me where you got your tab?

  • The end of Broon's Bane or The intro to The Trees?

  • 9 out of 10

  • to fast

    lynnfrom scotland

  • man that shit was fantastic! i used to practice this piece for days on end! never could get it down cause i played by ear and didnt know the chords but now im gonna watch you and learn it! well done!

  • you play this very well. advice: breathing, hear when u suck in breath? calm it down. its very good, but it sounds like ur flurrying, ....dont flurry, this song can be whispered...quite well done

  • Dude, you nailed this!! I too love this song. What a great job you did!

  • Nicely done. Such a good tune.

  • that wasn't a very nice thing to say.

    or true.

bandmanager101, I think most of the people who read your comment will think of YOU: "horrible... not even close..."

  • Well done. Thanks for sharing and giving us a good view of your chords so that we can learn from it.

  • Hi, I did enjoy your playing, but I have a question. What chords are you playing on the "intro" to The Trees?

    Thanx!

  • D, F#, C#, A, E, G, A

  • Wow Amazing!!!

  • i wantto learn this because its always been one of my favorites since i was like 3...but the olny problem is that it is such a difficult song for a begginer.

  • niceeee, keep'em cummin

    how about...2112 acustic part..?

  • thats amazing 5/5

  • I have been tryin to figure out that song for years! Thank you for the lesson, Lifeson would be proud!

  • good guitar work..this is the best part on exit stage left..just a shame alex wont ever do it again..

    amazing job!!!

  • i know... i really like this tune.

  • I'd pay somebody to help me learn this tune.

  • it really isn't so hard. Alex uses some really funky chords but once you're used to them it's really easy.

  • yes very nice job indeed, enjoyed very much.

  • I wish there was video footage of Alex playing this tune. To the best of my knowledge, there is not.

The Exit...Stage Left video only includes a hint of B's B at the beginning of The Trees.

    Nice job!!

  • Nicely done.

  • very clean and powerful tone. great job!

  • Alex Lifeson has to be the most under-rated guitarist.

  • very nice - I'll get round to doing this when I finally get my classical repaired ...

  • Very weel done...

  • Very nicely done! The best version I've seen on YouTube.

  • sweet

  • Oooh! Nice classical playing, near perfect and no accelerations in the song : you know (like me) how difficult it gets to stay constant in that, oups sorry, those songs! I admit using a metronome for that one, but you seem to get it quite right without, hats off!

  • Do the cloning of this song next...please! Your YYZ video was so amazing...AHHHH makes me all giddy.
