The answer to me seems to be that the laws follow the biggest hard drug at the time. Crack is used a lot more than coccaine so it has higher penalties. As people realize the cheap and extreme rush of meth and it creeps into notheast cities as deep as it has here in the midwest, that will make thw laws change.

hey i resently baught the movie and its really good but when i watch it for sime reason this meth la scene isnt in it i dont know why but for the scene in the bacement it only goes up to the part where chester notices that budy is in the basement and thats all and than it just goes right to the part where they want to dye there hair black thats it there is not exploding meth lab in it i was a little disapointed

its not a deleted scene. there was a mistake on the region 1 edition of the dvd and this scene was left out, in its place is a very awkward cut.
apparently, people who have purchased the dvd with this mistake on it can get an exchange from the company.
