  • they should go under XD

  • I'm a little sad to be writing this when we should be talking about how the Blue Angels are the tip of the flying spear. Anyway, ACTUALLY, anyone is allowed to break the sound barrier over populated areas as long as they are in class echo airspace (18,000MSL+). Second, the speed of sound is not constant. As such if it's in your routine to do 650 knots (remembering that SOS is 675.84 at sea-level and Standard Atmosphere) one nice sunny HOT day your subsonic, the next cold day...BOOM! Children

  • @stricka991 they did break the sound barrier in Seattle WA and i should know cuz i live there.

  • @skibum175 And I have seen jets at an airshow in Tacoma at JBLM break the sound barrier.

  • They're not allowed to break the speed of sound. They fly just under it, and at a distance you still can't hear them coming, but a sonic boom over a populated area would break a lot of stuff. And send a lot of people to the hospital.

  • @ssgsdeadweight thats not true at all dumb ass get ur facts straight

  • @BlankBrandon It's totally true. FAA regulations forbid breaking the sound barrier over populated areas, which is why they only do it in the desert, or over the water away from the coast. This applies to ALL aircraft, civilian or Military. I suggest YOU get YOUR facts straight. Dumb ass.

  • @suraxis they also do it at air shows...

  • @BlankBrandon If you're talking about the vapor cloud over the wings, that's called a Prandtl–Glauert singularity, and only indicates that you've come close to the sound barrier. There's a MASSIVE difference between subsonic passes, and complete sonic booms (present during the breaking of the sound barrier).

  • @ssgsdeadweight Fuck it. Go supersonic. I bet the guys that got hurt from the jet were saying it was worth it.

  • Red Arrows give a better display anyday, you can hear them coming from miles away, they don't burst the ear drums of everyone watching, their display is performed to a much higher standard, they don't disappear in five seconds because of their speed, they have a much better smoke system and the Red Arrows have to perform these displays without all the computers and systems that the F/18 has... therefore showing a much greater level skill. Speed and noise is no object when it comes to displaying.

  • @MrSpitfire090 hahaha wow :)

  • @MrSpitfire090 - seriously?? LMAO

  • @MrSpitfire090 but the speed and noise is what makes it cool

  • @MrSpitfire090 cool story, different planes do different things.

  • @MrSpitfire090 Blue Angels use the element of surprise to make their shows great. Plus theyre going faster than the speed of sound so uh, yeah, I dont know why anyone would want to expect them coming. If you dont like airshows, leave. Id much rather see and hear them than some semi pro Red Arrows. Honestly Ive never heard of them till you mentioned their name lol. Oh well. Theyll be as popular as the BA's someday ;)

  • @XxBillyGoatNinjaxX They are NOT allowed to go faster than the speed of sound in populated areas retard.

  • @XxBillyGoatNinjaxX You've obviously been living under a rock for your life. It's not that the Red Arrows aren't popular, but it's most people's ignorance to other countries air display teams.

As far as I'm concerned, the Element of Surprise is only useful in the battlefield, and doesn't do ANYTHING in an air display.

'If you dont like airshows, leave. Id much rather see and hear them than some semi pro Red Arrows'

Try structure your sentences properly so they make sense next time.

  • @Nooblet68 Didn't see your comment till after I posted my reply to XxBillyGoatNinjaxX but now I have I totally agree with you in every way. The simple fact of the matter is display pilots are NOT allowed to break the sound barrier at an airshow and are NOT allowed to excede certain speeds due to altitude and airspace restrcitions around the display venue. Good comment though mate! :-)

  • @XxBillyGoatNinjaxX The Red Arrows are world famous how can you possibly tell me you've never heard of them!? :O The Red Arrows can go at the speed of sound if they wanted too but they don't need too because their display is all that matters in the end, although I'm certainly not doubting the quality of the BA's display as that is also of an incredible standard! I love airshows in fact so that to be fair was a rather judgmental comment which I have to disagree with. :-)

  • It's hard to catch them since a. you don't know exactly what direction they're flying and b. you can't hear them till they're right on you.

  • Dumb shit didn't even know where to point the camera.

  • im watching this while watching the blue angels practice in sf

  • The most beautiful sound of diplomacy! F18's! Fly Navy! Wings of Gold!

  • ENEMY HARRIERS INBOUND

  • they like the red arrows?

  • @liqzy they do airshows like the red arrows but go faster and have after burners. plus the blue angels have a awesome takeoff.

  • love the sound of those GE F404s at lower speeds

  • @skandalintegra they sounds great no matter what.
