What I meant by my comment is that the source of news often puts their spin on the story. Like Viracoch711 suggested, read more than one source for your news. Compare and contrast the stories. Either way, your personal beliefs will be hard to shake, but you will be better informed.

Give you one example. When Beck aired the Acorn expose, he showed a woman who claimed to have killed her husband. Media matters riciduled Beck for being naive enough to assume the claim was true.
But Media Matters carefully edited out Beck's long disclaimer where Beck clearly says he had NO IDEA whether the story was true and or whether she made it up.

Beck reminds me of this kid I knew when I was like 12 years old. He was a gay Mormon who really loved spending time in the church. I don't think people hate media matters, they just roll their eyes at their dishonesty.
Give you one example. When Beck aired the Acorn expose, he showed a woman who claimed to have killed her husband. Media matters riciduled Beck for being naive enough to assume the claim was true.
But Media Matters carefully edited out Beck's long disclaimer where Beck clearly says he had NO IDEA whether the story was true and or whether she made it up.
Media matters edited it to make him look bad.

I respect Beck's perspective more than any other news anchor. Bush was a bad president. Iraq has not proven to be a justifiable war to be in for 6 six years. Bush ran as a fiscally responsible ReaganRepublican who ended up being far from fiscally responsible. However, Obama is even farther from fiscally responsible. Our debt is four times higher than ever and our grandkids will be paying for it. Both suck. To fix it we must elect fiscally responsible representatives in 2010
