I give 5 stars for fixing the car rather than junking it.
The 1g head is a great head for a low-compression setup, but if you raise the engine's compression past its designed (7.8:1 for a 1g) spec, the 1g head is actually problematic in ways that are hard to detect. Big ports are good, but 1g head ports are "too big", causing a loss in intake port velocity which is crucial to atomizing the fuel before ignition. The 2g head maintains much greater velocity. If ported, will out-flow a 1g head.
@mitsubishiman5 i would use a 6 bolt block use a 2nd gen head way better flow stock for stock and pored as jafro said will be over kill compared to a 1st gen. use cometic headgasket and arp head studs, use the 1st gen trottle body make sure to use the elbow off of the 2nd gen. use eagle rods and JE or wiesco pistons if your not looking for 600+hp use a small 16g turbo for quick spool up and stil makes great power.
@mitsubishiman5 after your done with that stage 3 clutch and light weight fly wheel turn boost to 17psi for some fun on street or strip after its tuned properly and has all supporting fuel mods
