1.Mario can swim.

2.Sonic is a blatant rippoff of DragonBall Z.

3.Sonic has to collect 7 chaos emeralds to turn super. Mario can technically turn super whenever he wants.

4.Sonic is basicly just a hedgehog with speed. Take AWAY his speed an he's nothing.

5.Mario was made before Sonic, therefore he is older.

Get your facts straight. Sonic and Mario stopped being rivals after Sega quit making consoles, therefore, you haven't proven your point. Brawl DOES NOT count, because they're both against Tabuu, and not do the Olympic Games, as they're just competing for a bunch of games. I like Sonic more, but I love Mario too.
