Pal, do not apologize about USA, as each country has its own specialty. America is a great country for the Americans as Indonesia is a great country for the Indonesian. I hope the Indonesian respect the Americans without any comment on apologizing about our Independence Day--the fourth of July.
I agree, synergism is a good thing, and although Sid (below) makes a legitimate gripe, cross-cultural behavior is hardly a simple matter of "better or worse." Interestingly, a couple of the guys in this country band are also gamelan musicians, which is actually my only formal musical training (Hank tunes were mere whims and bathroom fancy... :o)>>>)

I loved this, and I'm not quite sure why. It reflects a more innocent time. Why are Indonesians not entitled to a bit of fun?
It certainly tickled my fancy - there's nothing wrong with cultures intersecting in a synergistic way.

Sorry is was testing you. I know what a rijsttafel is because I was born in Indonesia
and emigrated to the Netherlands. Rijsttafel is dutch for a mix of differents meals of meats and vegetables from Indonesia.
