I totally agree with chowbelly. I knew this was a non partisan movement to protest the unconstitutional income tax and the bailouts. But the MSM struck again and potrayed these events as nothing but Republicans pouting over losing the election. In fact, entites like Fox News jumped into the fray and tried to direct the events into republican rallys. In the end, it worked and the average Obamatron becomes even more entrenched in the lies.
I was at a TEA Party demonstration in Texas. The vast majority of people driving by seemed to be very supportive. There were only a few people passing by in traffic who showed their obvious displeasure, (third finger), at the few placards which displayed references to Obama as being "Dubya Part 2". The bottom line is that, at least in Texas, I am encouraged that the people who seem to be fooled by the Obama Deception are few and far between.
While we were tea partying, one of the businesses behind us called the police... happened to be a bank. The police made a lot of us move our cars and told us not to place the signs in the ground. Then he saddled up and headed off to greener pastures. Donuts and coffee involved no doubt! I think he was trying to be sympathetic, but needed to respond to the bank's request. Wonder if they were bailout recipients? They were certainly not happy for us to be outside their bank!
I attended with my 4th grader and mother-in-law in tow. We live in a small town. About 60 people showed up to line the sides of a major highway. The reactions were mixed. Some honked, some waved, some turned their heads, one even pulled up, got out of his car and asked "what is all this about?" We waved flags and carried signs (since the local police were quick to point out that we couldn't place them in the ground alongside the garage sale signs and charitable car wash signs) proudly!
I guess this is a sad commentary on the state of the United States that a Christian home schooling mother who doesn't want to enslave her children to debt forced upon us by a leftist Democrats agenda is now considered a domestic terrorist! My son is around other kids at church, at the store, in the neighborhood after school lets out and around his family. His peers are 0-101 y.o. I think it makes him a more rounded person. He enjoys the 1 on 1. He also can work at his own pace... he excels in math and is a bit slower in reading. He is making great strides after pulling him out of our local public school 2 years ago. I have an older child who is still in public school and doing well. Each child is different. fear? NOT!

I went to our town's tea party today because our congressman was there. He is conservative, voted against the omnibus, the stimulus, the death tax, etc. It was a calm affair with only about 200 there in the town square. Since everyone was pretty much of the same opinion, we just validated each others' opinions unfortuntately. He will continue to vote conservatively and will be outvoted by the libs in congress though. Sad.

I would add the school system; at least in my country. I was taught to see socialism as another economic system. It is probably something closer to a contra-economic system, as it is very poor at generating wealth. Socialism is more like obligatory charity (which isn't very charitable). A very poorly run charity.
I don't think it'll be easy to break the hold that this 'feed from the trough' mentality has on people but I believe it is becoming a matter of survival. The situation may be worse in Canada. But so long as there are people who can see through the smoke screen that is socialism I feel there is a lot of hope.
I think these tea parties are a sign that big changes are coming. Great point on spreading the word. We need to think big and prepare the entire country.
Non violent protest is necessary. We must retake our country and constitution by speaking up and informing our representatives about the change we want done. Then if they don't listen, we can replace them through the vote. But, the "silent majority" must speak out so they can be heard. I totally agree with chowbelly. I knew this was a non partisan movement to protest the unconstitutional income tax and the bailouts. I was at a TEA Party demonstration in Texas. The vast majority of people driving by seemed to be very supportive. There were only a few people passing by in traffic who showed their obvious displeasure, (third finger), at the few placards which displayed references to Obama as being "Dubya Part 2". The bottom line is that, at least in Texas, I am encouraged that the people who seem to be fooled by the Obama Deception are few and far between.

While we were tea partying, one of the businesses behind us called the police... happened to be a bank. The police made a lot of us move our cars and told us not to place the signs in the ground. Then he saddled up and headed off to greener pastures. Donuts and coffee involved no doubt! I think he was trying to be sympathetic, but needed to respond to the bank's request. Wonder if they were bailout recipients? They were certainly not happy for us to be outside their bank!

I attended with my 4th grader and mother-in-law in tow. We live in a small town. About 60 people showed up to line the sides of a major highway. The reactions were mixed. Some honked, some waved, some turned their heads, one even pulled up, got out of his car and asked "what is all this about?" We waved flags and carried signs (since the local police were quick to point out that we couldn't place them in the ground alongside the garage sale signs and charitable car wash signs) proudly!

Who is we Jorge? Personally, I find fault with the fact that my wifes high school teacher was a confirmed lesbian that loved watching her and the other girls take showers. I think it is better to have children learn from their parents. There are plenty of activities that home schooled children can attend for "socialization" I just find it offensive that you use the phrase "home schooled" as an insult. My son is around other kids at church, at the store, in the neighborhood after school lets out and around his family. His peers are 0-101 y.o. I think it makes him a more rounded person. He enjoys the 1 on 1. He also can work at his own pace... he excels in math and is a bit slower in reading. He is making great strides after pulling him out of our local public school 2 years ago. I have an older child who is still in public school and doing well. Each child is different. fear? NOT!

Again you don't understand the teaching of the Church about Mary. She not the co-redeemer. There is only one Redeemer and that one is Christ. You can find the doctrines of the Church concerning Mary on the Catholic Encyclopedia Online.
The element of communion - the bread and the blood do not "magically turn in Christ when we eat it. It happens just like Christ said when he instituted the Eucharist on Holy Thursday when he said "This is my body.....This is my blood." Read John 6 and believe.

Jorge is an Anglican. Episcopalians are one of the Protestant splinter groups I referred to earlier. If you want to know the Catholic Church's teaching on homosexuality, here it is: homosexual acts are inherently disordered (sin). Any sexual act outside of the bonds of marriage (a man + a woman in Holy Matrimony) is a sin.
The Catholic Church teaches that the only way man can receive salvation is by the merits of the blood Jesus shed on the cross for the forgiveness of sins.

I agree with you here Hurrahburrah, but in the last part of your statement you haven't added how important Mary is to Catholics. Can I be saved by believing that Christ died for my sins, accepting the gift of salvation through Christ, accepting the fact that I am a sinner and I am worthy of death, that the trinity is true, and the divinity of Christ is true, and I repent of my sins, but not believe Mary was perfect, and was also of virgin birth, and ascended into heaven like Christ did?

The pope is only infallible when he speaks "from the chair" that is when he is defining Catholic dogma. This happens very rarely. Pope JPII never defined any Catholic dogmas. The pope makes mistakes and sins just like any other man. You do not understand Catholic doctrines or dogmas, yet you reject it. Until you know what you're talking about, you cannot make a fair or just judgment.

I went to our town's tea party today because our congressman was there. He is conservative, voted against the omnibus, the stimulus, the death tax, etc. It was a calm affair with only about 200 there in the town square. Since everyone was pretty much of the same opinion, we just validated each others' opinions unfortuntately. He will continue to vote conservatively and will be outvoted by the libs in congress though. Sad.

I would add the school system; at least in my country. I was taught to see socialism as another economic system. It is probably something closer to a contra-economic system, as it is very poor at generating wealth. Socialism is more like obligatory charity (which isn't very charitable). A very poorly run charity.

I don't think it'll be easy to break the hold that this 'feed from the trough' mentality has on people but I believe it is becoming a matter of survival. The situation may be worse in Canada. But so long as there are people who can see through the smoke screen that is socialism I feel there is a lot of hope.

Non violent protest is necessary. We must retake our country and constitution by speaking up and informing our representatives about the change we want done. Then if they don't listen, we can replace them through the vote. But, the "silent majority" must speak out so they can be heard. The will of the people cannot be ignored if the people keep speaking up.

Problem with these protests is "undercover" officers acting as provocatures actully carry out the violence so that the entire protest is broken up.
No matter how peaceful the intents of the protestors, if the police [state] really wants to break it up, they will find a way.
Other than that, they are counting on the citizendry to become violent so they can activate their marshall law apparatus. I don't see that happening with the "tea parties" but later on when we are near famine.
