Wonderful :-) I asked earlier about a D-Akebono and a D-scale didge...i have a hard time to decide which Hapi to get... Its either a UFO or a D-akebono. Any suggestions for a beginner like me? i want as much variation as possible and i assume the UFO have more scales?....
@indigochild79 With the D Akebono, you can hit any of the notes and it will all be in that scale and sound good, with the UFO, if you use ALL the note, you'll be playing in C Major or A Minor, and to get other scales out of it, you'll need to hit certain notes and leave out certain notes, depending on what scale you're playing.
I John, I'm back again for another listen to your amazing music. Your talents and craftsmanship are truly art. I'm still enjoying both of my HAPI DRUMS, and longing for a UFO. Blessings, have a musical day, Glroia Pacific NW.
WOW.. that Tuvan IGIL is inCREDible -sounding! I take it it is fretless.. was this difficult to learn to play? Really a wild sound! Thanks for posting!
I am a big fan of home studio music, every once in a while I stumble across something really enjoyable, this is one of those times! Hapi drum is too cool...
You are a shitfaced wanker! Go get a life or i will come out of the toilet with a machete and a horde of demons at my command! Also i will look like Osama Bin Ladin! You must have no life to make such a pathetic video! You Dickshitfucking ass wipe! -.-!!!!!?
i'm really tempted to get one of those hapi drums although im ashamed to say it but vanity kinda stops me since i dont think their the most attractive of instruments. how very shallow of me :(
The Hang is tuned similar to the process like a steel drum is tuned, using hammers to tune it, the Hapi is a metal "tongue drum", meaning the the metal tongues are tuned by cutting each note a certain length and width. Each note on every Hapi needs to be fine tuned because of small variances in metal density, etc, the same with the Hang or any organic instrument.
this video blew me away, ive been into hand percussion for awhile now and ive never seen anything like the Hapi drum im definetly going to look into this it would get tons of comments at any drum circle. thanks for the video
This is AWESOME, AMAZIN, BEAUTIFUL, You are great musiacan, I love Your music. Is making me so calme and happy. I'm flying in my min when I hear Your music :)

Okay J. How'd 314 people beat me here? This is great! By the way, where does one find a Tuvan Igil, and how much are they? I looked on eBay, and even "Lark In The Morning", no luck. Am I being snoopy? Now all I need is someone to play along with. Is this the "E"-Major? I love this music. I can hardly wait to get my Hapi, it's going to be so awesome. When you get to the "D" major, I'll make up my mind. Thanks a big bunch for this video. Carmy
John, the Hapi and Igil are a magical combo. My wife and I created a wonderful song with our D major Hapi, Chinese Guzheng and native American flute. Regards, Saggio
Absolutely amazing, as always. I just didn't care for the Igil as much this time. Would have rather heard the Hapi Drum with the other percussion instruments. But hell, it's your video lol. Great job!
