  • Dude john pascuzzi your spirit touches my soul. You are a true artist and I am glad to be friends with you!

  • awesome jam, would love to sample it or remake a dubstep version

  • @Entrancing Thanks! Go for it and let me hear what you come up with sometime :) -- John

  • Would you mind if I added some electric guitar to this?

  • @crazybybirth Go for it !

  • Wonderful :-) I asked earlier about a D-Akebono and a D-scale didge...i have a hard time to decide which Hapi to get... Its either a UFO or a D-akebono. Any suggestions for a beginner like me? i want as much variation as possible and i assume the UFO have more scales?....

  • @indigochild79 With the D Akebono, you can hit any of the notes and it will all be in that scale and sound good, with the UFO, if you use ALL the note, you'll be playing in C Major or A Minor, and to get other scales out of it, you'll need to hit certain notes and leave out certain notes, depending on what scale you're playing.

  • WOW!

  • Sounded nice - The song had a cool & unique vibe to it

  • I John, I'm back again for another listen to your amazing music. Your talents and craftsmanship are truly art. I'm still enjoying both of my HAPI DRUMS, and longing for a UFO. Blessings, have a musical day, Glroia Pacific NW.

  • AWESOME!!! SOUNDS LIKE AN ELECTONIC ROCK MIX

  • Sexy music.

  • Iv been watching so many of your hapi and hang drum videos along with others, thank you for such an uncomprehendable musical instrument.

  • whats an igil?

  • WOW.. that Tuvan IGIL is inCREDible -sounding! I take it it is fretless.. was this difficult to learn to play? Really a wild sound! Thanks for posting!

  • I'm more impressed by the igil. Too bad they're not mass-produced... :(

  • If only they mass produced igils.... SADNESS

  • what can i do to support your music?

  • Damn man, another fine played piece of art! You're very pationated while playing, it's cool to watch.

  • do you have a cd available ?!?

  • Just loved this. Absolutely. What a surprise. Thanks for sharing.

  • @alexanderracho Why thank you, Alex! :)

  • very nice song

  • This sh it would be awesome on acid

  • This song has a "Tool" vibe to it, especially with the Igil (I'm going have to find one of those things, awesome sound).

  • What is that stringed instrument???

  • its igil but he made it electric

  • awesome

  • this seems like a more refined version of the 'Hank drum' which is a Hang drunk made from a propane tank.

  • BIG !

  • I REALLY like this combination with the Tuvan igil - it sounds like a combination of a violin and a crazy electric guitar player.Cool!

  • I am a big fan of home studio music, every once in a while I stumble across something really enjoyable, this is one of those times! Hapi drum is too cool...

  • c'est génial !

  • Well done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • are you the creator of the "hapi drum" of a guineapig? lol either way its amasing.

kind of a mix of african thumb piano and steel drums, the addition of the "tuvan igil" has an amazing effect.

welll done that man is all i can say lol =)

  • is an igil easily obtainable or like a hang drum and nearly impossible to get

  • Great sound!

  • what is the stringed instrument called?

  • >>what is the stringed instrument called?

It's called an "igil" (pronounced eh-GIL), a traditional instrument from the country of Tuva (play non-traditionally in this case) :)

  • this is amazing.

I would love to play them instruments !

  • drum is simple in concept, extraordinary in execution... a dream come true!

you're playing is (and tones are) : lovely, warm, fantastic.....

    great vid --thank you

  • Nelle tue mani diventa tutto magico

  • where can i get one of those stringed instrument things ur playing?

  • Oh Man..!!! you made me found new Life!!

    .. thankssss.

  • you're welcome! :)

  • Beautiful !!!!!

  • thanks Mike! :)

  • i'm really tempted to get one of those hapi drums although im ashamed to say it but vanity kinda stops me since i dont think their the most attractive of instruments. how very shallow of me :(

  • this, is amazing. what's the difference between this and the hang drum? out of curiosity.

  • The Hang is tuned similar to the process like a steel drum is tuned, using hammers to tune it, the Hapi is a metal "tongue drum", meaning the the metal tongues are tuned by cutting each note a certain length and width. Each note on every Hapi needs to be fine tuned because of small variances in metal density, etc, the same with the Hang or any organic instrument.

  • this video blew me away, ive been into hand percussion for awhile now and ive never seen anything like the Hapi drum im definetly going to look into this it would get tons of comments at any drum circle. thanks for the video

  • thanks very much. The Hapi Drum has only been on the scene less than 2 months, so it's the new kid on the block that's making a bit of a splash :)

  • this guy kicks ass!

  • That man is very talented.

  • this guy remind anyone else of the guitarist from spinal tap when he is playing that asian violin thingy? haha its a rad video though,

  • Well, my amps do go up to 11. That's "one" louder, lol :)

  • Great !

Thanks for your amazing and beautiful music !

  • hey man this is a cool video. Great music i love how weird it is. its very relaxing too. Do you have like downloads or something so i can set this up in my room. Also i want to see some more of you on just the hang drum. That is one of the sickest intrusments that i have seen you play. that igil is crazy too. but ya i want more hang drum!!!

  • nice one!

  • whats that stringed instument?

    ive been looking for it..haha

  • It's called an "igil", they are from the country of Tuva. Interestingly enough, the igil was the hardest instrument I've ever learned to play, and the Hapi Drum is probably the easiest instrument in the world to play :)

  • Tuva is famous for throat singing

  • yes, they sure are. Aldar Tamdyn of the group Chirgilchin made my igil, the bowed instrument.

  • You guys are cracking me up! I'm a loner, the only one in 50 miles who will play anything. Gott'a drag my sister into this. Gonn'a check out that CD when my bank gets cracking on the computer, it's slower than ever. Thought the comp was supposed to speed things up.

  • Well, this one isn't on that CD, since I just wrote it yesterday, but I'm sure it'll make it on the next one in some form or another :)

  • Well, you are now on My space (jimmyzm8). I apparently can't use my My Space addy here.

  • John sooner or later, I gotta get my hands on a CD. I just love this.

  • Make it sooner. I just picked up the pre-flight CD. Verrrrrry nice, with a promise that the "regular" release will be even better.

Another cool groove, John. Btw, love the RCA dog in the background. :)

  • Thanks, Lefty :) Guess I better try to find the time to get that other CD recorded!

  • *Snort* Get crackin' and stop fooling around on YouTube! ;D (Hang on, that would mean no vids...hmmmm - what's with these 24 hour days, anyhow? Not enough time to have our cake and play it, too).

  • Okay J. How'd 314 people beat me here? This is great! By the way, where does one find a Tuvan Igil, and how much are they? I looked on eBay, and even "Lark In The Morning", no luck. Am I being snoopy? Now all I need is someone to play along with. Is this the "E"-Major? I love this music. I can hardly wait to get my Hapi, it's going to be so awesome. When you get to the "D" major, I'll make up my mind. Thanks a big bunch for this video. Carmy

  • I don't need to really say anything now

I've already said it, your music is great :D

    Keep 'em coming

  • Beautiful music, John!

  • Very Cool

  • God....I love your genius...sooooo talented!!!!!

  • Amazing.

  • thanks for create

  • beautiful combo! Really well put together.

  • I love how the dog always watches the monitor.

How big do you make these drums? I bet kettle size would be amazing.

Then we could all play on it at the same time and "be hapi together".

  • John, the Hapi and Igil are a magical combo. My wife and I created a wonderful song with our D major Hapi, Chinese Guzheng and native American flute. Regards, Saggio

  • Thank you very much Saggio!

  • Nice job!

  • dude u r awesoem!

  • Nicely done!!

    peace

    ~Miki~

  • Oh, I absolutely love it! Will there be more HAPI coming soon?

  • Absolutely amazing, as always. I just didn't care for the Igil as much this time. Would have rather heard the Hapi Drum with the other percussion instruments. But hell, it's your video lol. Great job!

  • God, I need to get one of those drums, bring something new to my band. That would be sick! Thanks for putting these up.
