one time i was on the R train and the chime messed up. it went backwark "dong ding" instead of "ding dong" weird somehow. however i didnt pay attention to the car #, but all i know is that its an R46.
the best chime is no chime. useless and annoying, though not as bad as "watch the closing doors". Which is not as bad as WMATAs "doors opening", which is not as bad as "doors opening on the left/right side". Sheesh
This is a common doorchime in Boston! I have ridden the red line and on a red line model 0800 car, it was almost exactly the same!

Ive heard weirder door chimes. I even was on an R46 with a very dead motor & no door chime (R46 5524).
