It's basically the same at least a part of it is: The guy who is the star of his sports team with his dad being the coach wants to do something else and a "big" event takes place on the same day and at the same time. Even some of the characters mirror each other: Chad=DB, Bridget=Sharpay, and Mrs. Darbus= The Home ec teacher.That's half of what HSM is about the other half is a rip off of Grease. Either way you put it, HSM is NOT original at all!

@AaronRodgersIsHot Some differences, like the romance in HSM, this movie is a bit more sexist, or at least it's more aware that some of the characters are being sexist, while Bridget is the competition thing, she still had a thing for the main male character. Though I agree, it's not original at all, then again nothing today really is :B
