Let's be honest here; Afghanistan is no Disneyworld. A lot of their culture is pretty fucked up, (cutting off girl's noses for going to school, etc). However, is it the ultimate responsibility of the U.S to go in and fix them? I think Paul's right, the best thing we can do is have them to sort it out, and to exert our influence by setting an example.

Even before America existed battles were fought between Christian and Muslims. Do some extensive research around the mid century where fighting was REALLY intense! Peer into the early days where SUPPOSEDLY the Muslims blame the Christians, when history shows OTHERWISE. But of course, you won't. There's no 30 second video or Ron Paul Spooner quick notes for it!!

@BONZAII42 You should do some more research there. Muslims fought the Romans or "Byzantines" as they are referred to now, to liberate the people oppressed by the Romans in the Middle East. This is when Muslims and Christians first fought. Not the "mid century" or whatever that even means. The political/religious turmoil of the Roman Empire at the time resulted in a rapid expansion of Muslim power, as Rome had to quell revolts of its own and fend off invasion from abroad.
