  • this tv fucked me. the screen started acting strange and gave out after 3 years. i will never buy samsung again.

  • lol @ 120

    guess im mexican too =)

  • DON'T LET SHAMSUNG SHAMYOU !!

  • Before U buy this samsung JUNK put SAMSUNG TV CLICKING into a google search and read about THOUSANDS of samsung customers that are screwed and pissed off.

Don't be the next SHAMSUNG SUCKER !!

  • good video man! Ive been trying to find a decent video on this tv, but their always a bout a black guy who has to make it into a hip hop video. they gotta show their "bling" their computer , their this, their that, etc... all behind rap music.

  • Good job on the review. I was about to get the 81 series until they said there is no 120hz to give it that real life look. I saw the 650 series that just came out, and I might get that one instead. At first they were some problems with the TV shutting off automatically, but they fix this through a fireware update

  • Good reveiw, this can be informative to consumers planning on purchasing HDTV's and this reveiw has also contributed and added credence to my prior knowledge of the HDTV world. But I didn't hear you mention the Auto motion feature native to the LNT-4671 which greatly reduces motion blur. This is a really a cool feature and the benefits should be mentioned, though I did here a cameo mention about sports fans having complaints about the triple ball effect. But overall a good reveiw.

  • WHAT IS THE PC INPUT DISPLAY RESOLUTION!!! I was thinking about Sony XBR variations but there PC INPUT DISPLAY is only viewable at 1366 x 768!??!? This makes me want to buy this samsung... going to curcuit city today to pick this one up... cant find the PC input display information ANYWHERE on the web.

  • I am not sure what the max resolution input display is. I do know however that I have played HL2:Episode 2 on my Samsung, and set the resolution from the game to 1900 X 1400, and have seen it output to 1080p according to the Samsung. I can check it tonight.

  • I just checked it in the following set-up:

I have a DVI to HDMI cable and plugged the cable to my computer and the Samsung, using Mac OSX Leopard. I am right now using it and when I press info on the TV, it says 1920 x 1080i. I hope that helps. It might do higher, but at least it does that.

  • Sorry for posting again, but I changed the resolution on my MacBook Pro, and now it says 1920 x 1080p when I press info on the TV remote.

  • nice veeery nice... I was at Circuit City today shoppin for a new tv and i opted for a Sony KDL-40XBR4 (faster Proc, 120hz FPS, nice cheasy glass look, responsive menu). However what i have learned is that mostly all of Sony's HDTV's do NOT display at 1920X1080p resolution while using it as a HDTVPC. It only comes in at 1366X960. Thats why i asked. I havnt tested my Gaming Rig on my TV yet (arrives this morning) But if it cant display what i want then imma get That beauty u got there.

  • soooo this tv has game mode... does game mode look good or are there any problems with the game mode.. i have a ps3 and im planning on buying a samsung tv.

  • To me, it just seems to darken and sharpen the image. All and all the best bet to me is to just fine tune the individual settings. The AVS forum has a thread for settings on the 4671. You're going to love this TV for gaming. It simply is beautiful.

  • im actually planning on getting the LNT4669 samsung LCD. it has a 20,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 120Hz frame rate, 6ms response time, and its a beautiful tv... it's almost identical to yours but yours is a bit better...

  • Well, most people seem to like the 71 series over the 69 series. Actually I didn't know there was a 69, I thought it went 61, 65, 71, 81. I still am 100% happy with my purchase, and I do have the service plan so I can take my TV back anytime I want for the TBE, but I see no reason to.

  • i actually bought the LNT5265 :) 8ms response time but im still very happy with my purchase. i can even game well on my new tv .

  • Well, these two seem to always be pitted next to each other. Obviously, I am partial to the 71 series from Samsung. If you check the AVS forums, most people seem to like the colors, and quality of the 71. Also, it seems to handle motion very well. I would do a little more research, but my opinion says the 71 is the way to go.

  • Theres one way to greatly reduce "triple ball" effect. If you set it on *game mode* then the triple ball effect will be less noticable.

  • Right, but game mode is not available with all sources, for instance, OTA signals. Hopefully, this will be addressed soon. For me, it doesn't detract too much from my viewing experience.

  • I need to order eight 40" or 46" LCD's and the Samsung LNT series was recommended. They will mainly be used as Computer monitors. Have you hooked a computer up to see how the resolutions match up? I was told to go with 1080p because of resolution issues, but Im worried that this TV may be overkill.

  • I have used my DVI-to-HDMI cable with my MacBook Pro, and with Vista, and it works extremely well. You will more than likely need to adjust screen sizes and resolutions. You can find a cheaper TV that will get the job done, so depending on your needs it might be over-kill, but the quality remains fantastic. I've even set resolutions higher for game like Half-Life 2: Episode 2. You will just need to adjust settings.

  • Great overview, Thanks!

  • No Problem. I can always answer any other questions that people might have.

  • I thought the "triple ball effect" was due to the 120Hz AMP feature? Do you still get the effect even when this feature is off?

  • I believe the consensus is that it still occurs. I have not trined this myself as I get over-the-air HD, and if I remember correctly that feature is not available.

  • Thank you for the quick response. I've just learned something new from this info, and now I've gotta reconsider whether or not I'm getting this model.

    Thanks again.

  • does that tv have built-in speakers or surround sound?

  • It has built-in speakers, and while decent enough, are at best just nominal.

  • The 4661 series does not have a glossy screen, rather a matte screen. The 65 series has the glossy screen.

  • i have the same tv, do you know how to check your firmware?

  • You have to go to the Samsung website, but I do not think there is one out there yet.

  • Everything was great until you talked about RACE! LMFAO! HAHAHAHAH What the hella does that have to do with Samsung??? Too funny? And i wan't to know about football games? How is it? And video Games? how is it? Not remember that damn Titans. HAHAAH j/k.. ill give you 3 stars.LOL

  • Electronics and Race go together right? Oh well. I'm not that serious. I just hope these companies start sending me their products so I don't have to keep buying everything.

  • Since the 65 and 71 series are so bright, I happen to think their viewing quality is better in a bright environment. The TVs' contrasts retain picture quality even in glary situations, but the blacks look even blacker due to the bright surroundings.

During night viewing the blacks don't look true black because you can see some of the backlighting leakage.

  • I agree about the night and the backlighting. I've been kind of disappointed while watching movies like 300.

  • God I want that tv.

  • almost slammed that remote into TV!

  • Man I love the 120hz on this tv. Awesome contrast ratio 25,000:1. and its only $1999 in Amazon now with free shipping!
