Cmon guys. This is just an electromagnetic field which induces a small voltage in the wiring enough to activate the LCD of the thermometer. It only proves that the thermometer was not shielded properly.
It actually always says that when turning on - every element in the display is 'lit'. But it doesn't blink like that normally. The blinking is, I believe, the thermometer turning on and off repeatedly while the cell phone rings.
Quite weird! Apparently the most radiation phones give out is in the 5 secs or so when you're about to receive/make a call cos it searches all round for which mast has the best strength. So when you dial a number and press Call/Send/Etc hold it away from your ear for 5 secs.
