I think the mistakes are OK. It's a tutorial, and he's having to slow it down. Makes him human. I love this tune, and I wanted to learn how play it like Jansch et al. Thanks to this video, I'm halfway there.
A lot of acoustic fingerpickers use capos eg John Renbourne or Kelly Joe Phelps, it lowers the action and makes it easier to play fluidly and smoothly, and sometimes you just get sick of playing in oden D all the time and you still want to use the DADGAD tuning.
Hey! I just HAD to try DADGAD after seeing your videos, but I'm having a trouble seeing what you are doing with your hands. It's a fairly simple tune and the tutorial helps a lot, but a tab would be really awesome. I tried this tuning for the first time, so it would help to catch all those ornamentations and tricks you do on the other video.
Damn, I just wanted to say thanks, Ive wanted to play this for years.

why do you capo up when you are not singing. Does this tuning sound to loose and bouncy without a capo?

Thanks a lot for this tutorial, it's really helpful!
I don't suppose you know any Nic Jones? I know he mostly plays in C or double dropped D, not DADGAD, but I thought I'd ask.
cheers for the vid

If you like DADGAD you should check out the video "Pierre Bensusan - Introducing DADGAD (D modal tuning)"
& Michael Hedges - Ragamuffin.
An incredible example of the tuning, peace.
