Europe came to power and a significant time in history. A time when Technological advances allowed humans to cause mass destruction and travel the world. This and the fact that Europe is very plentiful in resources are the reasons why Europeans dominated the planet for so long. The only countries that prospered under British rules were those in which the local population was grossly exterminated, such as Australia.
Those countries were the locals were so many as to make impractical their extermination, are today far below Filipino or South American living standards, such as Nigeria or BanglaDesh.
Actually, people from those old British colonies are either exterminated or wish they could live in a former Spanish colony. Even in the US.

Life expectancy for Aboriginals in Australia is 47 years.
We can conclude then that the indigenous population of any former Spanish colony are far far better off. Wouldn't you agree on that?

All Spanish colonies were the richest, both for the Spaniards and or the locals, in many cases more even so that the people in Spain. Google Potosi, for example.
Equatorial Guinea was the only Spanish African colony South of the equator and it was the richest place in all of Africa. It also had the highest literacy rate and it was the only colony in Africa where the locals were allowed to attend and mingle in the same social outlets as the European colonizers.

All regions have fought, the only reason you say europeans have been fighting with each other is because some european countries like Britain, France and Spain have imposed their influence on the world quite strongly.
That's why most people know more about european history than asian or african history but infighting occurs everywhere
