  • GREAT!!!

  • Blast from the past! ty....

  • need more bands like this

  • wish i could still see this band one of my favs

  • savatage is one out of my top 5 bands and i have a countless list of bands/musicians! our local hard rock/metal radio station started to promote the album as it was just released. i was all over it, like white on rice!!! each time they toured in cleveland, u know where i was. their live performance's as alway's, on point!!! have been a fan ever since! 3;-)

  • this is one of the best savatage albums!

  • it's a killer song and we're proud to cover this song.

  • yup, its definitely been said before, and i know im not the only one who thinks it, i did get into the big four before Tage, but i know i heard a couple songs by them before i properly got into them, and it was like finding a long lost brother or something when i got this album a few years later. It is now one of my favourite Heavy Metal albums, and im not the type of person to have favourites of anything.... notice i say *Heavy Metal* aswell not anything more, or less. just good classic METAL.

  • it is very unrated sound. we're proud to cover this song. you can just "listen" it at our channel.

  • whos the gumba that said they broke up cuz of heroin..not even close

  • Criss isnt dead.

  • man I always turn this song up loud in the car...

  • I hear ya gumbydude1968 When we lost Criss We lost a true Shredder !! R.I.P Criss You are missed !!!!!!!

  • never bought a savatage lp that wasn't perfection. awesome sound even live! saw em open for testement when in reality testement should have been their roadies...that's just my opinion

  • Is it possible to make this illegal for being so perfect?

  • rip cris! we love you!

  • This was a powerfully talented band! It is a great shame that heroin destroyed it... well... I've seen it so many times.... And there is no judgement on my part... hell, I'n Irish I drink too much!

It's just sad.... I remember my wife bought me this album for christmas/winter solstice, hmmmm.... 1987? Man I wore the vynil OUT on this thing... great album.

  • This tune is one of the best of all time...Hell, anything form Savatage is killer but I'm a bass player and this gets me in the mood to just jam out anywhere and everywhere!!!!

  • @72cadman

Yeah, man, one of the great bass lines of all time... it just WALKS....

  • 100% liked. That's how good this band is, and as a teen, I fucking LOVE this band!

  • larga vida a savatage! Hall of the mountain King es uno de los discos que representa al verdadero heavy metal

  • savatage lo mejor del heavy !!

  • Real metal. Tight as f*k, yeah, way ahead of their time.

  • awesome song, what a voice, what a bas...\m/

  • i was 16 when i met this band

  • Savatage were definitely ahead of their time.

  • !,,! -.-

  • there are metal bands... then there is Savatage

  • what made savatage such a great band for me is the fact that the albums take some time to really appreciate them. the more you listen the songs you'll hear something you didn't before and even if you've heard everything the albums just seem to get better with time

  • i agree nutnfancy

  • YEAH THIS ROCKS

  • 3:08 - 3:50! So fucking awesome!!!!!

  • Looks like Odin, my father.

  • big song

  • The intro is FUCKING EPIC. :O

  • Next to Iommi, Criss Oliva was one of the greeatest riffmasters ever.

  • Next to Iommi, Criss Oliva was probably the greatest riffmaster who ever lived.

  • @jonsilence I miss both and don't mean any disrespect to IOMMI, But I preferred OLiVIA by far.

  • oh, man, this old man is in top form! :D

  • ...continued...

Anyways, at the end of the show, they played "Hall of the Mountain King" with a huge backdrop of this image that you see, (the album cover).

As he left the stage... the lead singer pantomined masturbating the King there, and then spit on the stage like it was... well...

I thought... hmmm... that wasn't pleasant...

    Just putting that out there...

  • I saw them live in Philadelphia... sometime in the 80's... The 80's were a blur for me, but I went to every DIO concert I could in every state up and down the Eastern Seaboard.

Savatage opened for DIO this night, and it was good, except that the lead singer, (I am ashamed that I do not know his name...) was so drunk that he stumbled around the stage and had a problem with the singing...

I'm not trying to say anything bad about him, I really loved his voice!

    ...continued...

  • People listen up,alot of you dont no about SAVATAGE,man, this band KICKS ASS

  • @nutnfancy57 Actually we do.. That's why we are here.

  • I add Steelwing to the bands Cityoflight mentioned.

  • i love criss olivas riffage on this album and power of the night, fuckin fantastic, savatage \m/

  • beautiful solo :D

  • true metal!!!!! this band had it all. they were on the heels of the mighty black sabbath and iron maiden but with the death of c. olivia there battal cry was silenced, what a shame!!!!!! to all the so called metal bands of this era and even now this album should be set as a benchmark as to what true metal should sound like!!!!

  • @gumbydude1968 heck ya. ive listened to them since i was little. but things now dont seem to compare to this stuff. i wish it would go back to the true metal!!!

  • @biedrzycki14 hey glad you appreciate real music!!!!!! sabbath- maiden- and savatage had their own sound that none could match. todays metal lacks the spark these guys had and it seems like the guitar sound that made them stand out has been replaced by the same repetative grungy type shit that everyone uses!!! what a shame!!

  • @gumbydude1968 White Wizzard, Grand Magus, Sabaton, Warbringer, Agalloch, Ex-Deo, Alcest, Woods of Ypres, Wintersun, Ensiferum, Equilibrium, Amorphis, Bal-Sagoth, Black Majesty.

I <3 classic metal, but there are a LOT of new bands with their own sounds and great stuff out.

  • @CityofLight11 Thanks for the LIST! With so many new bands and limited time to look for good music to replace our old bands, I appreciate a comment worth reading that helps get the RIGHT new bands HEARD.

  • @CityofLight11 Thanks for the list! I want new GREAT originals not just opinions.Good comment!

  • @biedrzycki14 bands are doing it, its just no where near enough bands are which is a shame because there are bands out there today who want metal back on track just like we do, its just a matter of unity sometimes which we dont really have back in the 80s because it was natural

  • @joshmattg ya true. the newer groups i listen to are all from over seas. not from america. except kamelot. the stuff like sonata arctica, nightwish, van canto, and voa. and a lot more. i think its great because a lot of it is original. not all this nu metal crap!

  • @biedrzycki14 i dont like much newer groups, i know it seems arragant but i know what to expect, its just drained out by fuckin keyboard and i hate the bands you have listed lol no offence, they just dont define power metal in one bit, power metal has lost its edge seeing as though when people think of power metal they think of fuckin dragonforce! thats awful man

  • @joshmattg ill give you that. dragonforce isnt power metal. but im not sure you know van canto if you are mentioning keyboards. and not saying that sonata or nightwish are power. they fall in different areas of metal. power metal to me is blind guardian, hammerfall, angra, sabaton, candlemass, and malmsteen. that is power. but also van canto is a acapella power metal group.

  • @gumbydude1968 You are soooo right!!! I was born in 58. These bands were the REAL THING. You could understand the singers,it didn't just sound like a series of demonic growls slapped together and spit out the friggin speaker. Some newer singers like Rob Zombie who walk the thin razors edge between Heavy Metal and Speed Metal I truly DO appreciate, but Chris Olivia set the bar pretty high. I hope that Lunar Eclipse finds a truly great vocalist,do early Masters justice, and PUT ORIGINALS OUT!!!.

  • Excellent very thx \m/ \m/

  • the golden age
