I posted on my blog (ethnonomad.blogspot.com) an article from Reuters that talks about the palm oil production in Brazil. Reuters explains why the palm oil industry may help slow the deforestation in the Brazilian Amazon( I really doubt it though). They analyze the situation in a different way.
