An absolute Blackpool Mecca anthem, from 1974. The original issue copies are dark-royal blue with silver text and logo, and on vinyl (as opposed to styrene).
This was a BIG record in Plainfield at the Teen Center back in the day. Believe it or not, I still have my copy of the record. It still sounds as good as it did when it was released. In addition, Sammy Campbell still lives in Plainfield.
One of my favorites beyond a doubt! Listened to it for years but never saw the true label (won't miss my chance now : ) ! ) I love how they capture the sound of sheer earnest desperation. Would love to have been a fly on the wall at that session!
Unfortunately, no. I live one town over from Plainfield and the record doesn't even show up here. There was some other good stuff from my area.. The Contessas had a good northern soul record (again, rarely shows up - even around here). New Brunswick, Plainfield, Somerville, Bound Brook and Piscataway NJ had some interesting doo wop and soul releases.
@xyz228 Top sound on the UK Northern Soul scene for decades, it is very rare and hardly anybody else in the world knew it! Sounded great in the 1970's Wigan Casino allnighters! You Tube has made all these rare tunes available for all to hear!
I knew something odd had happened to me when I was 14, after singing this into the mirror holding a hairbrush in my hand as a mike, I had tears in my eyes. Rare soul had arrived :-) cheers fella, awesome posting, fave straight away!!

@RareMusicDirect Did the 500 original press include the black demos? There seem to be more of them around than the blue/silver issues!
