Does Speedfan or any other fan control program work on it? The heat seems to be the only major issue, and controlling the fan manually may fix it.

oh bad news too... found out that its a 9500GE not GS that mean that its really a 9400 + 9200 SLi?? somthing like that... its ok, can just play fallout 3, easy bf2 and struggles with NFS undercover

i like the keyboard design of this laptop but i think the dell xps m1530 is better in performance wise because i have not had a problem with it so far + the blu ray drive is amazing

how about DPC latency spikes? i heard this laptop has problems with them, plus blue screens, freezing and the aduio driver taking up 50% of the cpu from startup and when it's idel. there is a tool... dpc latency checker you can use to check if your system is affected too... would love to hear if you have any problems with the latency spikes.

hey yeah I recently got one.. .and yes there is latency problems but only an issue if you work with audio i.e. record audio using your ther lappy, other than that its ok, lappy gets very hot but powerful enough to run mostly in power saving mode... dont know about the audio driver issue but i know that Vista sux.. its taking 1.31Gb on start up n thats with all the eye candy disabled and no programs on startup... but im liking the design of the lappy and the keyboards sweet!!

Dell is not known for designs. XPS looks more like a Sony VAIO. The best designed laptop by Dell is XPS m1210. It got industrial look, heft and feel

Yea this is nice. But wasnt there anyone in Dells drawing board room that said, "Guys, do you think we should darken those hinges?" WTF! Im in the market, and Im really considering this notebook, but damn!I think the hinges are going to pull my eyes off my work! idk, thats just a bit weird.

I'm so jealous... I have the M1330 with the 8400M GS and I would kill for the 9500... Great laptop and elegant design with the leather.

I do believe they released this at the wrong time though and their sales will probably be low. They should probably have continued to improve the Mini 9 before they released a new high-end series.

I may endup buying one (or not.. still deciding), but those hinges would really been better in black... maybe dark brushed aluminum?.. or even black carbon look? bur silver? auch!

to Dell People: when you stare at the screen you will get inmersed in what you are staring, and not getting those hinges inside your brain. <-- cause its everything I can see when I try to see at the screen, and thats confusing! (think about it)
