all of you are whiny talentless judgemental shmucks that look for any way you can to criticize this, only to make you all feel better about yourselves. This is one of the most innovative inventions in electronic music history, and has already changed the industry dramatically. Just leave it alone if you can't just appreciate what this is, a genius invention. Brian Crabtree is the man.
i think its a fair statement, i have heard alot of nothing created by monomes but its the same with any instrument especially a new one. I like what i can hear from this but my definition of music at least is more that just pleasant sounds :)
i used to think this when i first would see people play monome. when i got one myself i realized that the timing of when you release the button is often much more important than the actual press of the button, due to the slight lag between a press and its effect.
this is what happens when you actually CARE about what you are doing, he loves his music. "I'm sure it's not hard to push a glowing button." Dude.... just shut up, you have no idea who you are commenting about. He invented the device which houses this "glowing button" you speak of. Do you homework before being opening your mouth.
and i think i was going to say "being an ass" but decided to say "opening your mouth" either way, just stop being a judgemental prick. Learn electronic circuitry and build one of these before assuming it's so simple. If it's so simple go invent a similar sequencer of your own, without a prefab schematic.
Michael Craaaaab......oh, wait. BRIAN Crabtree FTW!
