  • Damn Sandy looked in pretty bad shape here. Such a shame. Both of these men were warriors, they fought for pride and the love of a fight, not for fame and the love of money.

  • one of the all time greats, mayweather should watch and learn from guys like willie, will he still be producing great fights on his 200th fight. The word hall of famer gets thrown around a lot but this a man that truly belongs there, people always talk how elusive mayweather is but willie is in fact in the record books for the only man in history to win a round without throwing a single punch. I love the fights with sandy sandler, Classic.

  • @TheNzman01 Don't forget Pep had all his fights with Sandler AFTER the plane accident too.

  • I will always say that Ray Robinson was the best due to his god given talents, 1 punch power, and skills put into one but Pep had the best skills and technique.

  • @tenfoldsoffspring HAHAHA I SAID THE SAME THING ABOUT SALVADOR SANCHEZ... ABOUT BEING LIKE BRUCE LEE & I BELIEVE EVERYBODY WOULD AGREE WITH ME MORE THAN THEY WOULD AGREE WITH U... ILL BET ON THAT!!! LOOK IT UP... WILLIE PEP HIMSELF, ROY JONES JR, TEDDY ATLAS COULD BACK ME ON THIS SHIT!!! HAHA GAYFEATHER WITH HIS RECORD & ALL WILL NEVER BE CLOSE TO THESE 3 LEGENDS....

  • Great interview with boxing immortal Willie Pep of Connecticut !

  • what a great treat to be able to watch this,THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS GREAT VIDEO!

  • Yunno, it's funny, I heard that Willie was afflicted by Dementia Pugilistica later in his life, but he sounds pretty clear here. A great fighter, and the best technical boxers I have ever seen. Most guys would be glad to have his post-crash footwork!

  • One mans poison is another mans??? Didn't hear him.

  • Great fighter, and a real class act. God bless this man.

  • what a great fighter

  • look at his face 229 fights and his defence was that great that he doesnt look like hes been in 10

  • The big difference from todays fighters and the old school fighters is money!!old school fighters got money but they always put the sport and there pride before money, but todays boxers money first then its pride.

  • I am so very happy you posted this!! I always wanted to hear Sandy Saddler talk and I fnally did. This is indeed quite rare and thanks again for sharing it.

  • 229 fights, and he doesn't seem punchy at all. More evidence of what a defensive master he must've been.

  • THANX KATIS999

  • Maybe the best p4p fighter ever.

  • Jesus always existed. He always will. Check out "I am second"

  • PEP fought over 200 times and didnt have a lisp or a slurr after he retired WOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!!!!!!!

  • Here's a man who won 229 times. Throughout his career it was only a plane crash that stopped him fighting, but only for 6 months. Mayweather doesn't get so much as bitten by a flea and fights once every 1-2 years and claims to be the greatest ever. Pep accumulated Floyd's run of successive wins four times in his career. He fought once a month or more. He didn't get 20 million a fight and he was a gentlemen. I hope we see his like again.

  • @boloboxing in order to be oneof the greatest u MUST have some sort of record...However u cant look at willie's record and say that just because of what kind of fighter he was and what he did, he would beat Floyd...Compare the two fundamentally...Floyd's reflexes unsolidify his shoulderoll...he moves just like a cat no matter what direction the punches are coming from...Floyd would beat the LIVING SHITout of pep....He could outbrawl him since Floyd can do it all, and pep cant fight an ugly fight

  • @tenfoldsoffspring Hell no, Mayweather wouldn't last with any greats of that era. These men were real fighters, Mayweather's a coward.

  • @YorkshireGripper Fukoutta here ..Willie was one diminsional....alll he could do was box and he took too much time to think, so his weaknes(like most technical fighters) was just by rushing him....U cant rush Floyd because he thinks on his impulses....u cant force Floyd to fight a dirty fight and throw him off his game because he already can do that...FDloyd would beat the living SHIT out of willie pep bro....ur so biased that ur sayin he cant last with the greats...He'd beat them all bro

  • @tenfoldsoffspring Biased! You just said Floyd could beat ALL the greats!!!! NO way. He's a great fighter but he wouldn't of lasted in Leonard's era, let alone Robinson's.

  • @YorkshireGripper Bro the ONLY one who would gibe floyd prollems WAS l;eanard....He has speed and power but his defense wasnt perfect...Floyd's defense IS perfect...If e cant hit Floyd but Floyd can hit him, then how can he win??....U dont kno shit about boxing...Ray robinson wasnt the greatests....He been outboxed before and knocked the guy out in the later rnds....if that was Floyd outboxing him, bro it would have been a wrap...Learn ya facts

  • @tenfoldsoffspring Don't know shit about boxing?? I wouldn't have the audacity to say that to anyone I've never met. No fighter is 'perfect', you're clearly a mayweather fanboy who's opinion can't be swayed. You included not one 'fact' in any message you've posted, and your analytical knowledge of boxing is letting you down. Don't reply if all you can do is insult someone who you know nothing about.

  • @YorkshireGripper Im not a mayweather fan boy...Floyd has more fundamentals than ANY of the greats...His reflexes make him move away from danger in a way that normal fighting styles have yet to grasp.....U said Ray Robinson...Floyd would beat the FUK out of ray robinson....This is how I kno u dont kno anything about boxing...Ray Leanord is the ONLY one who could give Floyd prollems and maybe Hearns cuz of his hieght...But Floyd does PHENOMENAL with tall fighters....He'd beat them all.

  • @tenfoldsoffspring To generalise the greats as you have done you must know more about boxing than anyone else. I bow to your superiority. You're just an over opinionated fanboy. Don't reply, I'm done with your misplaced self righteous attitude.

  • @YorkshireGripper u call me a fanboy cuz u hate to admit Im right...Genero hernandez was strong and fast...Prime Floyd would beat the SHIT out of him...ray leanard had a tough fight with herns but Floyd would just go in their and have herns scared to throw punches because he would fear getting countered...he would run around the ring like a punching bag being Floyd's victim....I like Floyd cuz I NEVER seen a guy fight that brilliantly...he's like Bruce lee the way he did gatti..defense

  • @boloboxing GIVE ME A FUCKIN' BREAK!!

  • @boloboxing I think it would be impossible for fighter nowadays to fight as much as Willie, too much politics and money in the game. You can't organize multi-million dollars fights every month.

  • @MrBumboclart I agree. The logistics and legalities would make it impossible, but I also think the mentality of a standard world champion has changed beyond recognition since the days of Pep. Not many would want to fight just six months after having their back broken in a plain crash, let alone fight 25 times winning all of them within 18 months. Im not saying I would. In fact, Im happy to say I would not. But that mentality has largely been lost.

  • @boloboxing That's because in Pep's time boxing was a fighting sport, now it is a career. Money ruins everything to a certain extent, now fighters (if you can call them that) fight purely for money, not for pride or because on an inner desire to fight. The closest you'll get to an oldschool fighter today is Shane Moseley, Miguel Cotto or Michael Katsidis. I could name a few solid guys who'd love to fight as much as Pep if only it were possible, those names I mentioned would apply.

  • @boloboxing Unfortunately, it's unlikely we will ever see anyone like Willie Pep again. The Will O' The Wisp was indeed a great fighter who, in his prime, couldn't even be touched. An argument could be made that Pep was THE greatest of all time. Fighters of the modern era can't even compare. A true gentleman as well.

  • @boloboxing man i dont see anyone outside of heavywhight beating floyd. the dude really has that much skill. he wouldve beat willie by walkin him down plain and simple. especially at that weight

  • Awesome, they don't have characters like that these days. Class act.

  • Thank you so much for this upload man.

  • These fools forgot to mention Willie Pep who is another all time great. Thanks for this video of the legend.

  • very precious interview
