I can see Rio in the running for Best Animated Picture at the Oscars. Question is, what will be its competition and how much would it take for it to win? I can see it nominated, I'm just not sure I can see it as an actual winner.

I must say that alto it was predictable at times it was a movie that the whole family could love! My young one loves the music and the colors! I didn't see it in 3D but I loved it either way...it's true that the main story line is common but how original can you get at one point in time everything has been done before... as for a sequal..yes!! as long as its as colorfull and musical !

i think it was a beautiful movie but it was WAAAAAY too predictable, and when one can say "i knew that would happen" at every turn and conclusion of a movie, it takes all the enjoyment out of it. the worst part about this movie was the animal villan. that guy had less of a motivation than red skull. he was a famous beautiful actor, then some unexplained accident happend and now he's scared so that means he has to be evil. really? how lame. they really should have explained the villan more.

@teddybear2174 well, I'm fourteen and I've seen this movie 10 times in a week. It's great, if a bit childish. It's the same sort of story as all those "rediscovering yourself" and "romance" movies, but it is shown so amazingly, so differently than other movies of the sort.

I can tell watching the movie on dvd that 3D would've been awesome. Whoever doesn't like this movie has poor taste. Blue Skies needs to make at least a 2nd Rio cause I think that this movie is 100x better than Ice Age. @sistemsylar Read the comment again and it says Pixar rip off (though I'm no fan of Pixar either). Even at that, there is hardly a difference. I really don't see anything special out of the movie say for the animation. Its not something you should see right away, just something for your kids. Don't hate the movie, I just don't see how this is a superb movie.
