  • Vi a música em Cães de Aluguel do Tarantino, e vim conferir... é interessante...

  • Regarding the Defranco familty, there is a Michael Jackson - Donny Osmond element of young cutsy heart-throb sensationalism produced by the media and enforced for record sales. Teens were discovered to be a "Mom, buy me that" group. In a twisted way, it was to also to turn adults adults onto kids during a time when young & mod was prompted. It was the "don't trust anybody over 30" era. The Peter Pan Syndrome was rampant, then in its infancy.

  • where were these guys from? were they italians, latinos, were they americans?

  • @Srhandel Osmonds came first btw. The Osmonds were nothing w/out Donny and the Jackson 5 needed Michael or they would be nothing. Just saying.

  • @Srhandel each group was a group in its self. Each group stood on its on. Jacksons were great but had a hard butt dad. Osmonds were just having fun. De Francos were short lived. Michael had the drive and talent to go on his on, but was never allowed to do anything else. Michael was pure talent at anything he touched

  • what a load of pony

  • Tony is a realtor in Ventura CO, CA and his sisters own a salon in Santa Clarita/Valencia area. There is a fan website and was talk of a reunion.

They did an album rerelease a few years ago and I found one on ebay but

it was tough getting that bid. Just thought you might like to know

  • his sisters are so beautiul wonder what they look like today think i saw one in a movie

  • Brings back such fun memories

  • I remember the sisters were Marisa and Marina. Tony had such a great voice, they had a few hits and then, never heard from them again. But I loved this music, still do. The childhood music stays with you!

  • omg my first love!

  • My first 45 record--loved it then (Christmas 1973 and still love it now in 2010 :-)

  • Marsha! Marsha! Marsha!

  • LOL

  • Man, this one wasone of my faves that played on am radio back then. Check out the BellBottoms!!!!!!!!

  • he sounds and looks like donny osmond

  • Wow . That guy knows how to hit the high notes

  • This is so great to see! There's enough of it here to remember it clearly....still better music back then compared to anything out in the last 20 years...thanks for posting!

  • AHHH, the memories! Listening 2 this on a 45 rpm at school. He was cute. Thanx 4 posting!

  • The set is a riot. These cats had some serious bedhead.

  • Good to see people are still watching this, 2 years after I posted it.

Used another account, because I was too afraid of youtube deleting my channel back then :]

    Haha, thanks guys for watching.

I still love this song. :D

  • was this the very 1st time they were on TV?

  • Still have this song in my head and memories of "tiger beat " magazine. I guess some things just never leave you. But I still love this group, what a fun, enthusiastiac bunch. Great song !

  • I'm waiting for the brady kids to jump from behind them!!! LOL

  • I dig the bellbottome and those dance steps!!!

Can anyone sell me a lid?

    peace!

  • I have a white jumpsuit just like Tony's. I still wear it when I go dirt bikin'. Rad!

  • havent heard ths for ages!! Loved the song!

  • Okay, kids. Here's what you do: pull your tube socks up to your knees and stick your bag o'dope in there. The Fuzz will never see it under bell bottoms that wide.

  • OMG I remember this song!!!

  • What happened to them. They sound really good.

  • Tony Defranco has a website...google his name.

  • Had such a crush on Tony when I was a kid! Still love this song.

  • So did I ,Cielo ..I even named mey first cat ( a feral) Toni after Tony Defranco

  • hairdo is funn...i was 12 at this time

loved this song and this group.

  • sweet, a group of wops from Canada, who else!? hehe.

  • i may have heard that too but i think it was media story to sell mags

  • Did Donny ever meet Tony Defranco? did they get along I have heard that their was some friction between the 2

  • Tiger Beat owned a big piece of The DeFrancos so naturally they pushed them, but that hurt as

much as helped since the other big mags like

Flip,Twist,& Teen didn't want to help Tiger Beat

by promoting them ABC Records which put out

the record was partially owned by Dick Clark,

which is why they got on Bandstand

  • The Osmonds for a time were the hottest

recording group & Donny was the prototype

so many of us tried to find clients that

could compete for the all powerful teenage

girls buying power Tiger Beat decided

    to package their own version

  • Ah yeah the Tiger Beat cover competitions, I remember them well. The difference with the Osmonds was that they were the real deal.

I was so angry with TB for "replacing" Donny and the Osmonds with the DeFranco Family even though I thought TDF was ok just not better than the boys from Utah.

  • T.D.F. Rocks!!!

  • The kid probably became a loan shark somewhere in Jersey.

  • He's actually a very successful real estate agent in California. Google him.

  • Did the Osmonds came to shore first, or the defranco family? I guess every body wore the same jumpsuits back then!

  • Tony Defranco Rocks!!!! My sister bombarded me with this song!!! LOL!!

So great to hear it today. Yes it rocks!!!

  • That set is ill! Jack Benny had it goin' on.

  • hippies or disco or what

  • cute, I liked this one when I was 10 ,but he couldnt hold a candel to donny osmond!!!!

  • I loved this song! Thanks for posting it

  • love the dramatics in the opening dance sequece. FEEEEL the heartbeat.

  • i luv this song and i am 14

  • i am also 14 and i just LOVE this song.

  • Glad to hear you were enchanted by our "old" sweeties. Bleh! I don't want to see what he looks like now! I still look like I did then, but few do...

  • a distant nice memory

  • I have heard the naked brothers band the jonnas brothers and

hanna montana they are nothing compared to the Osmonds, the Partridge Family Jackson 5 tony defranco and the brady bunch

  • I LOVED Tony! Thought I was going to marry him. His favorite color was orange and he loved sunrises..... sigh.

  • Or so Tiger Beat and 16 would have you believe. I was sucked into it, too. Still luv the guy, though.

  • yeah more Canadian talent that made it to Number 1

  • As a young teen i loved the DeFrancos (thot Tony was hot) and the song was very cute!

  • Those girls are so cute--they know how to shake it!!!!

  • Music is a matter of preference. I happen to like this song but that doesn't mean everyone will. Yes it was the seventies and I liked the music. Today I'ts Mostly hip-hop Which mostly sounds the same (depressing) and all those guys have about the same moves, but it's what's cool now and the sheep follow.

  • You're kind of right about that, ss4435.

  • honestly, one of the best songs of the 70's.

  • Give'em a break people -- for most of the 70s it wasn't really about the bad music, which is mostly a given, it was about the dancin,' body suits and big hair --

  • They do suck... and for trivia, the group who did the background singing for the Partridge Family, also sang over groups and blended harmonies, as they do in this song. Its so clear that the kids in the back are lip synching, because they didnt sound good on their own. The singers are John and Tom Bahler, Jackie Ward and Ron Hicklin. Its on one of the Partridge fan sites which profiles the backups to David and Shirley.

  • I remember "The DeFranco Family featuring Tony DeFranco"....they lasted a couple weeks.

  • Why can't you get their songs on itunes?

  • I saw them sing at Knott's Berry Farm...around 1975?

  • He was "hotter" than Donny....even now!

  • call the police , this was a kiddie pop rip off osmonds

  • i think whoever did the choreography for the brady bunch songs also did this. what a nightmare to watch.

  • true that the moves are the same, but if you think about it, those were the moves of the 70s, they all did the same stuff. and about the nightmare part, your right on target there too but look who the target audience was. pre-teens who didnt give a rats a** about content and whos priority was who was the cutest. my boyfriend gave me this record when i was 15 and when we broke up, i was so heartbroken i couldnt listen to it. so it has not so good memories for me.

  • best song of all time maybe

  • It's a South Philadelphia Donny Osmond!

    LMAO.

  • WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT SOUTH PHILLY?

  • I just barely remember this group. Was this there only song, but it's the best one I've ever remembered. For some odd reason I keep thinking they made an appearance at the Kroff Supershow.

  • do you their their collars are big enough?

  • im so mad they don't have this song on itunes!!!

  • No, but there's a CD collection of 70s stuff from Time/Life that has this on it.

  • I remembering getting this record as a Christmas gift from my parents.....at the time it was the best gift in the world !!!!

  • This is better than any song of 2008!!

  • Great Song :-)

  • Kid sounds like Donnie Osmond. Even looks like him at that age.

  • god I miss the 70s :(

  • I'm with you...I miss the 70s a whole lot. What's so ironic is that I hated this song when it was first released. I now think otherwise. I loved the 70s

  • haha my mom made me fall in love with it too!

  • Ohh to be young again !

I had such a crush as a kid on the DeFranco sisters.

I just knew I was going to marry one of them when I grew up.

  • omg.....

  • Wow deja vu. Haven't heard it for over 30 years.

  • A Donny Osmond clone.

  • Oh I havent heard this song in such a long time and love it thanks for posting this

  • Probably, if not most likely, the most quasi-psychedelic set Jack Benny, from Waukegan, Illinois, ever had on his show.

Correct me if I'm wrong, sports fans.
