You NEVER say anything when first put into a cell with another inmate you don't know!!! Don't talk unless you need to, to anyone until you get into separate cells. Cell mates test each other out first if they don't know each other, but most prefer single cell living.

ive been to jail (not proud of it) but when i was in there guards would stand outside looking at inmates fight for a couple mins before they actually broke it up. im sure these officers would have done the same if those cameras werent rolling.

i dont know about where you were at, but at the jail i work in gaurds wont enter if inmates are fighting until more guards arrive for assistance, just in case its a staged fight to get a guard in there so the inmates can whoop the guards ass
