He's confused. It's generally more effective if you repeat the same command repeated times and then switch and do the next command repeatedly. He's super cute though and you guys look like you bonded very well :)

Cute. =) My sister's yorkie used to cheat all the time because after saying sit, she would usually say down.

You should use hand gestures instead of just standing and leaving your hand in the air. They learn better that way and won't be guessing all the time.

you have to give him hand signals sometimes too, so he doesn't get the syllables of your words confused and do the wrong thing.

So for like sit, but your hand palm down

for up put it palms up and things like that

He is not cheating, he is just quicker! He knows what comes next. If you want him to keep his position, you need to teach him to "stay".

It's incredible how quick these little creatures learn. My girlfriend taught her dog to always poo directly beside the curb, and on cue no less. He grasped this concept within one day - try that with children!

try saying down instead of lay down, and put your hand in a motion towards the ground or tap the floor, it will help him learn easier.

and when he sits or lays down, repeat the word sit or

down so that he can try to memorize the difference :) but other than that, good work!

i trained my pomeranian stevie, after you say "good" and reward them you should condition pie to the word "down" and "sit" so say "good lay down!" and "good boy sit!"
