  • Our dog has similar. Could not afford Flea control 3 months and he did not have one. Fed him a diet dog food he had one. Stopped food a week none, gave it to him and he had one. Applied another kind of flea control tonight, he had one about 8 hours later. Had none in weeks. We are thinking it is a preservative being used. I personally have allergies to certain preservatives. Stinks companies do not often list preservatives, Prayers you can figure out what causes them and hopefully eliminate it.

  • I want to thank you for this. My bulldog had one of these just today and I couldn't explain to friends and the vet what it looked like, and this helped me illustrate. I'm sorry you have to deal with this, but know that you've helped at least one person by documenting what a bully's seizure looks like.

  • Sending you a private message..having problems responding with what I want to say.

  • I have a 8month old English and he just started having them. had a few tonight actually. His aren't quite as severe as Vegas but mine does it for about a min, urinates himself, and passes out "faints" and then acts like nothing happens. Ive sent mine (Sebastian) to 3 vets and all say nothing neurology is wrong so I'm looking or answers. Ive had blood work done, X-rays, etc and no one knows nothing. so if anyone has any answers please let me know. Ill post some vids to see of anyone can help.

  • @cjcanesfan13 I just sent you a private message......

  • @libra92673 I sent you a fb request with a message.

  • Awwww poor puppy :((

  • poor baby take him to the docter

  • I find this very sad.

  • My dog has epilepsy too, but not nearly as severe as Vegas. She's on a really got medicine which keeps her from not having any seizures. I hope that Vegas will get better and have fewer seizures. You're taking good vare of him, I can see that. :) It's a very emotional experience to watch your best friend go through something like that but what else is there to do than to just stay with them? Vegas will be in my thoughts. -3

  • @DrummerElliott Thankyou. Vegas has been doing better these last few months. He's had 3 in the last 5 months...but that is a huge improvement over one every 3 weeks. He is on 2 different seizure meds, which are controlling them, but not preventing them. Hopefully the next few months will be easier on him.

  • Wow, what an absolutely precious animal. I wish there were more excellent animal parents like you. You are so gentle and loving – that is very clear. Vegas is a lucky puppy.

  • Would you recommend someone adopt a dog from a shelter that is known to have grand mal seizures? Do you know if there are any additional large costs associated in caring for a dog with epilepsy? Thanks

  • @Karen77724 I have an 80-lb boxer/lab mix (that I adopted from the shelter) that has VERY severe grand mal seizures. Life is pretty much the same with her as with a "normal" dog. Honestly, you learn to deal with it. The only additional costs are her seizure medication and regular vet visits. Like Vegas, she has taught me so much about life, and I always make it a point now to help other owners with seizure prone dogs. So I'd say definitely adopt if you're up to it! :)

  • does he have medication to help his seizures? my bordercollie has mild seizures occassionally.

  • Hi! how is Vega going on? <3

  • You are an AWESOME mommy and STRONG. I would be a mess seeing my baby like this.

  • Vegas has such a good mommy. Do these videos help his neurologists decide how to treat him? Are you able to tell when he is about to have one? Thank God he doesn't know what's happening when he seizes and that he doesn't remember his episodes. Poor angel, I bet he's tired after that. I wish I could come kiss on him and sneak him some shake and bake. Lol. Love you guys!

  • Yes, I know how powerfull a bulldog jaw is ... I experienced it playing with my own Bullie :) hugs for you Boy <3

  • . I hope Vega can get better one day or at least doesn't get any worst. Putting him to sleep is a decision only you can take because nobody knows your dog like you do. I had to put to sleep my Adorable Bulldog 9 months ago ... he had cancer and before he started really suffering I prefered to let him go with dignity. Hope you won't have to take that very hard decision. A big big kiss and a hug to that lovely boy of yours ... Vega of course! <3

  • Vega is adorable .... I love his videos! I didn't know that he soffers epilepsy ... that would made me love him even more! Congratulations for the way you stay calm ... I can imagine it is not easy at all. Only one question ... shouldn't you try to prevent him from biting his toung during the attack by pulling it out of the mouse? It is just a question, onces a vet told me to do so in a dog ER lesson.

  • @Molousa That is a very good question....but I think it might be hard for a bulldog to bite his tongue...the way the lower jaw sticks out. I've never really thought about it. I do know that it would be NOT in my best interest to try and move his tongue. He has jaw power like no other. He almost crushed my finger when he thought he was biting down on watermelon. Just the simple bite down..cut me to the bone. I will have to ask his neurologist the next time we are in. Thanks!

  • I'm glad he is unaware as well. Seizures are horrible. I used to have them... Know that I was not trying to be degrading or saying harshly that he needed to be put down because of this disease but that if it was uncontrollable and he had daily and suffered -- it wouldn't be good physically on hid body. And I do not appreciate the comment from the other person at all. I am very educated on epilepsy - I have it and it sucks. Oh and FYI: I love children! <3

  • This is not how I wanted my comment to sound, so I'm sorry if I offended anyone. I have animals and I'd love them regardless even if they had a terrible disease. This animal is blessed to have such a loving mother.

I was NOT trying to sound harsh at all... please forgive me...

  • @kittypride2 You are very much forgiven. I am very protective of him, and you are not the first person to say that to me. I would very much like to invite you to view his other videos. Vegas is a ham. He was featured on America's Funniest Home Videos in Feb of 2010. He is a joy to love. He has taught me more about life than you would imagine. It's unfortunate that he has epilepsy, but I'm thankful that he is unaware. Please know that we cherish his life and take very good care of him.

  • i think although he has epilepsy his life couldn't be better in all other aspects, this girl obviously loves her dogs to no end. his life is better than most dogs out there, even with epilepsy. people with epilepsy don't get put down. understanding doesn't make a difference. love makes a difference.

  • @silvergate3909 Thank you for sticking up for us. You are right. Vegas is spoiled rotten. Although he suffers from epilepsy (he averages 1 episode every 3 to 6 weeks) , he is loved like crazy. He is on daily meds and even has his own neurologists. I would never end his life because "he doesn't understand". I really appreciate your words. Unfortunately, there will be idiots out there who live in a bubble and don't know what it means to own a special needs dog. Hugs!

  • @libra92673 you're welcome :) as i mentioned a while ago, ALL bulldogs should have an owner such as you. it's really heartwarming to see how you care for them :D

  • If this persists or becomes more frequent, I would put him to sleep so he doesn't suffer anymore. Not trying to sound offending at all, it's just not fair for animals that don't understand. :(

  • @kittypride2 I feel sorry for people like you who claim to love God. With loving God you love all his creatures. I hope you are not a parent. And if for some reason you have been blessed with children...I hope they are perfect. Because I'd hate to see what you would do to a child that wasn't. FYI...epilepsy isn't contagious, so no need worrying that your animals "will get it" and he's well taken care of. Maybe watch our other vids before you judge? Or educate yourself? Just saying.

  • That's upsetting! I hope none of my animals get it...

  • @kittypride2 By making such a bold judgemental statement for all to read, you open yourself up to judged...for judging. It is upsetting. But he doesn't feel them or remember them. That's per his neurologist. The same thing is said for people with this disease. They may suffer physically (if they fall and hit their head, etc) but the seizure is not painful and they don't remember. So..he doesn't suffer.

  • Poor big guy. :( It's sad....
