Because there`s enough distance between aircraft and Thunderstorm cell. Turbulence can occur when the aircraft is closer to the edges of the up / down draft currence, but here it seems like a single cell, and the crew are flying good distance to it.

When I was coming home from Australia, we went via Singapore, and when we were on final approach there was ans ENORMOUS thunder storm about 2-3 miles from the plane. It was beautiful seeing the sky get lit up

Wow I came through through Houston from Las Vegas the same day on my way to Minneapolis. We had to fly out past San Antonio before we could turn north. I didnt think wings could bend that much on a 737-800 when we found a path through the storm line. Amazing find.
