  • Some of those look like heavly modiflied Seimens SD160's LRV. In Canada, Calgary and Edmonton run SD160's in there rail lines.

  • Very nice video, keep it up!!!

  • Would you like to be a light rail operator for Port authority? Did you ever apply?

  • Why are there only one car trains?

  • It was a Saturday, and off peak hours. They double up the cars for weekdays and peak.

  • very nice

  • This is a cool vid Scott, nice job! They're talking about running train sets like these from York down to Baltimore on the old Northern Central line, that would be awesome if they did. That would help get some cars off Interstate 83. Pennsy use to use it for the Liberty Limited, I wish we had rail service back in York again.

  • lol I Hear Ya! Interesting that they run mostly only a 2 pair on the 42 Line! I see you stopped @ South Park! Thats where i got a few of my own at

  • 2-car trains exclusively run in a.m. & p.m. peak hours on the 42C (Castle Shannon via Beechview short), 47S (So. Hills Village via Overbrook) and 47L (Library via O'brook) lines. The peak-only 52 (Allentown-So. Hills Jct. short) uses one car only. Outside of a.m./p.m. peak, the 42S (So. Hills Village via Beechview) and all the other lines use only one car. Non-peak Steelers, Pirates and special events trippers sometimes use two cars, depending on crowd size.
