  • Elvis knew the best bass players in his las vegas and live concerts 1969 to 1977. Duke & Jerry were the best. Bill Black was the best early days and studio bass players. Others were equally as good from the late 1950's to 1977 in studio. The '68 Special player was superb.

  • Thanks for posting. The reason this song was in the concert set list is that Elvis wanted badly to record this song (that Duke wrote). Elvis asked Duke to take a turn on the mic at a Lake Tahoe concert and Duke brought down the house. Later that night in the hotel, Elvis asked Duke to sing him another one and it was You and I. Elvis loved it and wanted to cut it. Lou Adler had the writes to it and wouldn't let it go...Otherwise you would have heard Elvis do this one.
