So i finally came to the conclusion...The way to repay these men and women is to serve them. I joined the Marine Corps on June the 9th 2011 and will be going to Paris Island on June 11th 2012. When I see the uniform, the smokey bears, the footprints...I get chills. Not because of the intimidation...but because of the people that came before me. I am from the same small town as John Glenn, and though I am young, I know that, even before his space flight, if you tried to tell anyone in that town that John Glenn never held a job, you probably would get thrown out of it. He was a hero to New Concord before he orbited the Earth because he fought for our freedom for so long and through two wars, and he has always been a man of strong character.
