  • THIS Is The True Meaning Of Going Back In Time: Season 2 Rocked! I Hummed & Sang The Theme Song To This for Many Years, Thinking I Would Never See Or Hear The Epic Opening Again! Now For A Long Overdue Re-Visit Of Some Space Ace & Kangaroo Episodes.....

Props & Many Thanx To Yesterdays92 For The Post

  • Two things:

1> It seems the only program out of this anthology getting any love from Boomerang is Space Ace because I've seen it on that cartoon channel.

2> Since when did Q*Bert start shooting projectiles from his nose?

  • Taco Man Plays A Video Game!

  • I really wish they would release this on DVD someday! Too bad it won't happen since all the characters are licensed.

  • I'm going to ask CBS to bring back Saturday SuperCade with new episodes from segments of "My Secret World" and "Tekken" as well as re-runs of "Kangaroo" and "Space Ace".

  • Man, I miss those days as a kid back in the early 80's

  • I HOPE IT DOES COME TO DVD! This was on when I was a baby so I didn't get to watch it then. :(

  • some good news, there is a chance, remote but a good chance of this show making it to Dvd, It won't be exactly as we remember but it is something. Google tvshows on dvd. You tube won't let me post the link

  • Man, kids today don't know what they're missing! Back in the 80s Saturday mornings meant being transported to new worlds shimmering with imagination and fun!

  • This is awesome! Do you have any episodes for trade? I have 2 full episodes from season one. Email me.

  • I remember seeing the Kangaroo arcade game at the bowling alley back when I was a kid. It was just before Saturday Supercade's second season.

  • YES.. I totally remember watchin all the cartoons on YOUtube ive seen from the 80's. Yes i watched too much tv but it was good times and today cant compare to TV back then....

  • It's amazing how from fun video games, they can turn them into cool cartoon worlds on TV.

  • would you like to trade? I'd like to get a 1984 episode.

  • very weird, I never heard of the "kangaroo" game, and I used to watch this back in the 80s.

  • "Kangaroo" was an Atari game, where you played a mother kangaroo (here named "Katy") trying to save her son, "Joey." The main advantage was you were also a "boxing" kangaroo having to punch, duck, jump and otherwise dodge your way through a maze of monkeys, gorillas and other obstacles before the timer ran out. You could get fruits for points, too.

  • Kangaroo was one of my favorite arcade games. Mom kangaroo had to punch her way up platforms to save the baby. I did watch this back then also, and really the only one that should have possibly been made into a story would have been Space Ace. I suppose I did like it at the time.

And now the stupid Pac-Man cartoon theme song just started in my head... geez.

  • RIP Soupy Sales (voice actor of this Donkey Kong)

    January 8, 1926 October 22, 2009

  • Soupy was one of the legends and he will be missed:(

  • This, and Pac-Man cartoons....Saturdays the way they were meant to be!

  • Now this is a series that deserves a DvD release. of course getting the rights to the various games will probably prevent that.

  • Ruby-Spears did their version of Don Bluth's Space Ace for Saturday Supercade the same 1984 year that Ruby-Spears did their version of Don Bluth's Dragon's Lair cartoon series.

  • In the opening sequence, the kid kangaroo in the tree branch is sitting next to a forerunner looking Skippy Squirrel from the Animaniacs Slappy Squirrel cartoons!

  • I remember this opening as well. It is way more better than the first one because it had Space Ace in it.

  • omg i remeber this opening liked this one better than the first

  • Space Ace on supercade?! Cool! I love this game!

  • That same Space Ace segment was last seen on Cartoon Network by itself for a short time.

  • Do you remember when Frannie used to tickle Goriddle? She was so gorgeous!

  • Do you remember Frannie, the 16 year old brunette singer/guitar player from TGSC who used to tease Puppet Goriddle Gorilla?

  • I loved Saturday Supercade on CBS! Do you remember The Great Space Coaster?

  • The fact still remains that Q*bert, Donkey Kong, K.O. Katy and all the others, along with their arcade counterparts, are all on a long list of who and what helped keep me away from drug addiction and alcoholism and all that crap when things in school got to suck. And if that's not grounds for tracking down whoever's in charge and smacking 'em upside the head whatever number of times it takes to send the message that the wait for the DVD release has gone on long enough, I don't know what is.

  • 1984, eh. This season would of been better if it included one more arcade game: Punch-Out!!

I saw a couple of Space Ace episodes on Cartoon Network in the late '90s.

  • Yes! That woulda prob been on the roster had it come back a third season. :D I love this version much better than the earlier one. They should really put these programs on DVD.

  • Wow...

The season 1 opening made the show feel like such a generic "Happy-go-lucky" series aimed at preschoolers.

THIS, on the other hand...It actually makes Saturday Supercade look like a respectable show that could stand up next to stuff like Super Show and Captain N.

  • I remember Saturday Supercade Season 2 from CBS very well back in the year 1984 when I was only 6 years old!

  • YES!!!!!! You are THE true meaning of my life! The Season 2 opening titles of Saturday Supercade beat the Season 1 version hands down! THANK YOU for putting it up!

Boy, do they have a knack for launching the new season with a bang or WHAT?!! :-D

  • You Betcha!!!! Those were the best days of our lives!! LOL (ripping off brian adams) LOL!

  • @Yesterdays92 This opening reminded me of the opening for Doctor Who (Fifth Doctor), which was broadcasted in the same year.

  • could you pretty please upload that episode of the kangaroo cartoon.

  • I'll try to upload soon, They won't be in high quality due to compression.

  • If you have Q*Bert episodes PLEASE post them!! (I really thought nobody on Earth had season 2!)

  • Could you post the full episode?

I would love to see kangaroo again!

  • Do you have any episodes of kangaroo?

  • Yes, 1 episode, it' the one where they get a magic set, & gets dipped in white paint.

  • I remember her son Joey from Kangaroo. Do you remember Fran from The Great Space Coaster?

  • Holy...I never thought I'd see the season two opening. This awoke long-dormant brain cells and awakened memories. Wow. Very cool.

  • I'm just so glad that I didn't loose this VHS Tape! Never thought how much I'd treasure this recording!

  • I loved watching Saturday Supercade'

s 2nd season from the year 1984-1985. I remember watching this 2nd season on CBS with Kangaroo and Space Ace much more than I remember Pitfall Harry, Donkey Kong Junior, and Frogger from season one. I remember Donkey Kong Sr. and Q-Bert from season 2 very well though!
