  • are you god?

  • @LudesArmstrong - No, I am not God or a god. What made you ask that question?

  • youve got so much talent bro

  • Now That's How You Make A Beat!! Already a CLASSIC! 2 years later and I'm still bumpin' this!

  • Man I could sing my butt off to this track. Hot One bruh...

  • @1godssoldi - Download it! Let's hear what you got.

  • Man I could sing my butt of to this track. Hot One bruh...

  • nice man keep doing what your doing but please use more unknown samples

  • @Dlazybeatbox - Thanks for the comment. I do have more tracks on TaurusBeats with unknown samples. Make sure you go and check them out and tell me what you think. Thanks again!

  • @TaurusBeats yeah man i subbed so i will check them out. to be honest i have no idea what i meant with the ear training. but i bet it was something about mixing and mastering since that is ear training for me. keep it up, like what your doing! - Peace D

  • yo whats the name of this track on your page

  • @MrAsmakam - It's called "New Life" and you can download it FREE at TaurusBeats. Just sign up as a member. I'm revamping my website to make all of my tracks available to download FREE. Make sure you go get it and "like" it if you appreciate the free track.

  • I thought i reckonized a that sample and yes i did... check out smilez n southstar - tell me... if i didnt know better i wouldve said u made their beat !!!

Definetly hot track though!! (yours that is)

  • @dlyrious13 - That's a good look. I had forgotten about that! I'm sampling the same track. Thanks for the comment!

  • 2 of your beats is enough to subscribe to you dude. You got good style and the beats are sick.

  • @oskarsbmx - Thanks for the comment and glad you subscribed. Get your free downloads at TaurusBeats.

  • holy shit bro this track is worth a million

  • @ceisenhower - Thanks for the comment.

  • TAURUS - Amazing dude. You get hip hop. You get it, Yes.

One question, How do you play each "instrument" individually without listening to the all of others in the background?

  • @Jaysin114 - Thanks for the comments. I play each "instrument" individually without listening to the all of others in the background as a way to train myself to "feel" the music, develop better timing and my memory. I started doing it as a drummer - focusing on one of my band mates and mentally blocking out the rest during shows. I just play the individual parts like I hear them in my head - individually. It's just "ear training", I guess - nothing really special.

  • @TaurusBeats hey, i agree with the ear training but if you do it this way you wont hear masking untill you start mix and master

  • @Dlazybeatbox - Not sure I follow, please tell me what you mean. Maybe what I'm calling "ear training" is actually more "memory training" based on the way I explained it. When I think more about it, I am actually playing one part, memorizing it and then recalling the parts from memory while playing the next individual part. So, I am playing "by ear" but it's more memory recall when I do it like this.

  • good beat but how do u have ur mpd and oxygen hooked up at the same time?

  • @raginb1 - I didn't have to do anything special to get my MPD and Oxygen 8 hooked up at the same time in Reason 4.01. I just added both devices by looking them up in the preferences area. There is a "search for device" feature that auto detects the device when you strike a pad or a key on the controller.

  • whoa!......

  • nunca entendere por que mueven tanto la cabeza para componer

  • @tumadresacomiomirabo - I move my head/body while composing in order to capture the "feel" I want the music to have. My head/body movement actually provides the swing/groove that the track will have. I have always done this a drummer.

  • How do you like the MPD32? Have you played any other pad controllers? I thought the pads were too hard to trigger for finger drumming, even after adjusting the sensitivity and velocity curve.

  • @TheSoundCypher - Yeah, the trigger finger was no good for me. The pads were too hard and unresponsive. I bought my MPD32 and haven't tried anything else. I love the Akai MPD32 controller.

  • marvin.. nice flip

  • YEa!! Excelente production hermano!! saludos del fin del mundo...

  • hey.. . .what are ur quantize setings??? (great beat btw)

  • Wow my brother, you are bad. I have that exact same set up, we should collab

  • im feeling u bro ;) keep up the good work !!

  • That beat is ridiculous keep up the good work

  • peace. hey man you are dope! keep it up.

  • sounds like the beat from 50 cent Ghetto Quran

  • hey bro. Love your stuff man. God bless your music. Check out some of my beats if you get the chance. I use reason as well. Tips and pointers are always welcome!!

  • yo fuckin speakers cost mo then yo equipment lol

  • u love this and can i ask wah mpd is that

  • @breezekidmc - I'm using the AKAI MPD32.

  • @TaurusBeats wow that must be the shit for making beats i wanna get one buh im not sure if i would know how to use i just use the mouse and dah

  • Hey bro. I produce beats myself, just with FL Studio, a sample, a mouse and earphones, haha. But sometimes I wonder what if I've had a MPD, a keyboard, Reason etc? So I'm considering buying some real things instead of my current low budget (or even no-budget XD) production. So what would it cost to have like the same stuff you got over there? And what products would you recommend?

I like your music bro, keep it up. And even though I call Him Allah, may the Lord bless you.

  • timing is impeccable

  • Everytime i want to give up on making beats and can't get myself to focus because of RL issues ,i watch your video's ...and u just pull me back in the ring.

Thx for the inspiration and keep making music !

    Ya boy Skifeet

  • @SkibeatZ82 - Real life issues I face in my faith walk with Christ are what inspire this Moody instruMental Music I "create" (and I do use the term loosely). Truth is, I'm completely surprised and amazed at this music!!! I listen to it like, "WOW! Where did that come from?" The beauty and joy of this is that it pulls me back into it, connects with something inside, and I'm compelled to express what I feel through music. Glad that you're inspired, fam. Don't give up.

  • @TaurusBeats first I must say that the track is phenominal....the elements and composition are fluid which gives it an original quality. I stumbled onto this video 2 days ago while searching for tutorials for my 10+ year old Oxygen 8 (V1) that I just pulled out of storage....I have not stopped listening to this track since. Thanks for the upload as it is truly inspiring....

  • Not bad just a little too busy I would have flipped a bit different

  • oh hell yes.

  • yo taurus man i beg u tell me what sample that is

  • I clasify beats into three general categories. 1) Listen and vibe 2) Spitfyre 3) both.

this one is another 3 beat. I can see it has some headroom for rhymes and a good feel to groove to. good to see ya feeling your own beats to bro. -Elek

  • amazing

  • This BEAT is tha SHIT...

Could listen to this any day ...

Has anyone spit to this yet that u know of ?? Love to hear it

  • @dlyrious13 smilez and southstar sampled the same thing in "Tell me"

  • hey taurus first i love you music and your style so i had to go get a mpd32. becouse you made things like easy with the mpd 32. so i have one now and im running into some issues i have 4.0 reason and there saying that i need reason 4.1 to run the mpd32 and im not understanding whats going on and i see this was done year of 2009 and 4.1 was not out. if you can help me understand why i cant run my mpd on 4.0 when i see other people using 4.0 with this device.

  • @terry22ter holla at me i know how to fix y problem

  • That Was Amazing Darg.

  • That Was Amazing :|

  • nice feel

  • Whats up? I was wondering if you could do a video on setting up the MPD32 from the beginnig. such as ports. it would help me dearly.

  • hot

  • thats fresh man the sample is hot and you flipped it good

  • hey man dope shit i was wondering would u be interested in selling this beat to me? please i need this shit right here this would set it off for me i can send u some of my music if u giv me ur email just to show u that it would be going into good hands lol but foreal hit me back about that

  • u actually killed that.

what horn sound is that in reason ?

  • thatdudebro: Thanks, fam! Yes, the horn sound is one from the Orkester Sound Bank in Reason 4.

  • this is one of ur best beatreally awesome

  • nice 5*:D:D

  • this sample is all over youtube

  • hey, i just got my mpd32 in the mail and was wondering how do i get the sound to work. and what else would i have to buy?

  • nice work man. im feelin this shit

  • Nice music.... you should copy a dictionary sometime, preferably with both hands. Keep it up though, site had even more fire tracks so keep it up like I said.

  • dude you can obviously play music well. Ditch the Mo-town samples and just do it ALL

  • nice samples

  • Sick beat and wiked dance moves lol

  • thats sick

  • hey taurus I see u use an oxygen 8 and reason 4 same as me except i got theoxygen 25 but recently i been getting alot of latency it's driving me nuts!!!!!!! hw do u solve that problem do u know i got an mpd 18 as well they all seemed to work for a couple day den stuff got ridiculous . cud it be cos i'm running on vista now? cos my old laptop was xp and i had no probs with it.

  • very nice how u make this

  • F'n inspiring. I'm going to learn how to play the piano now. Incredible.

  • what's that original song called ?

  • Ryloo13: Stop Look Listen by Marvin Gaye and Diana Ross

  • Nice vid!!!

  • Man this is an excellent beat

I've been thinking about going the MPC route, but I think this video has me convinced that I should probably just grab an MPD32 and a new Oxygen from guitar center. With these and Reason 4 combined, I will probably have saved a few hundred bucks lol

Thanks for the great music, keep it up!

  • clcproduction: Keep in mind what you want to do, though. I like the MPC for self-contained portability. So, I plan to get one because I travel a lot. But I started with the MPD because it is way cheaper. Think ahead and plan a little more before you make your decision.

  • What tempo is this beat?

  • Nice beat man good sample cool chops.

  • I have tha Keyboard :)

  • your beats are top notch. nice work fam.

  • your monitors are really badly positioned.

putting them on their side will really badly colour the sound and they aren't even pointing at your head.

  • kan i use this console without the computer?

  • han549: If you're talking about the MPD32, it's a "software controller" according to Akai. I don't know of any other way to use it without some sort of computer. The MPDs are controllers that trigger sounds that are stored elsewhere (PC). It's not a standalone machine like the MPC line of products, which actually store the sounds.

  • who was the two that sampled this song this was like there only hit

  • smiles n southstar homie i think the song was called tell me.

  • hey man...u did a firmware update??it takes 4ever sending fucking syx file...or is it normal?

  • kash26: No, I did not do a firmware update.

  • i finally found the problem..if u have this prob try another pc

  • u are awsome u know alot

  • i got it already...if u do this and have probs sending the file then change simply the pc

  • ahh man thats amazing. you can tell you definitely know what you're doing haha. what i really love is the fact that you add other instruments rather than just using the sample bass and drums. check out some of my stuff if your interested

  • I dont get a fuck of reason 4?

and i dont know what you can do with midi keyboard?

If i play something on the MIDI keyboard.. comes it in Reason 4 then?

  • If you choose an instrument and press record then yes =)

  • yo son this beat is off the chain. what sample is that you are using?

  • hehe i know :D

  • Diana Ross & Marvin Gaye - Stop Look Listen (To Your Heart)

  • yeh rate u man, i use reason 4 to

  • really soulful beat really feeling this even though im more of a hardware guy props.

  • Hey does the oxygen 8 go good with a mpc1000??

  • sweet beat bro

  • this is ridiculous.. sick beat, awesome vid.

    peace

  • Sampling with the NN-XT using the MPD32 is way better then using REX, because you get more chops...Or actually if Im not mistaken its cut up differently...but yeah man I use the NN-XT...just set the release to maximum and youll see its a lil better...

  • awesome fam!!

    KEEP MAKIN'EM

  • doope

  • Reason 4 rules

  • midi pheriperals rulez

  • this shit go hard

  • PLEASE HELP ME

    PLEASE HELP ME

i have a mpd32, like you, but i cant get a pad to cutoff another one. confusing i know...

    for ex.

if i have a sample (on a pad of coarse) in "momentary", i have to hold the pad down to play the whole thing.

if i have a sample in "toggle" i can hit the pad and it will play the whole thing but i have to wait until that sample is done in order to play another.

how can i hit a pad, sustaining the sample, and hitting another one to cutoff the first

    nice btw

  • datkidramiro123: set "polyphony" to 1 and set the "amp envelope release" to maximum.

  • thanks, i do that on the mpd? or on my software because i cant find out how to do it on the mpd. sorry im new to this, just got it thursday.

  • datkidramiro123: These are settings found on the Reason sampler devices like the DrRex, NN-XT and NN-19. PM me and I'll help you as much as I can.

fukin great man keep it up!!

  • 1:09 fucken awesome

  • that was awesome man. . . off the hook

  • For slicing Samples you can use "audacity",its Freeware or the nn-xt from reason.you Can use the Samples with redrum or nn-xt.

  • a very simple but powerful device for sample slicing is the wave traveller! it is a native device of FL studio. many people make only scratches with it, but you can make an mpc program with it, and very ease.

  • That's what musicians do, we feel our music and move to it. If we can't bump to our own stuff, it ain't worth sharing. Leave him alone and make yourself useful.

  • he obviously loves what hes doing and has a real passion for music mate your the bafoon . . . you should learn to appreciate music more.

  • you CAN'T get too into your music m8....if YOU are not that into your own music maybe it's for a reason (e.g. you are not very good lmao)

  • hey whats up taurus..

I just upgraded to the mpd32, but it's a pain trying to figure out how to install it

I have reason 4.0.1, it shows the image of the mpd32, and seems to have detected it, but when I push a pad, nothing happens

what did you do to get it to work?

  • that is sick!!!!!!!! luv it

  • Real Shit..!

  • NICE beat, the vibe is perfect for something I'd love to flow over. I just picked up a PC from a friend with Reason 4 on it. Wanna get the MPD you got. I hope I can come up with sh*t half this nice. Crazy sample, even without chopping it, very dope sounding.

  • yo that is the realest!!! i own the same exact gear i also have fl8 xxl reason 4 and sonar producer u have inspired me to knock the dust off the lab and get back to work! check out chi town remix let me know what ya think peace fam. keep it loud man keep it loud.

  • nice i also use the MPD32 and reason, did you slice up your samples in recycle and import them in the redrum ? caus as far as I know you can only trigger samples that keep playing to have that nice flow in the redrum device..

pls answer, keep up the good work!

  • eres el rey!!

  • nice one.. really nice..

  • Thanks, fam. Grace and Peace!

  • Taurus your really talented. The music is in you. I could just imagine what you could do in sony studios new york. You definately bring down the whole place. Im trailing your every step, keep up the sublime work.

  • Thanks, fam.

  • yo man did u put kicks over the kicks that were all ready in the sample or what did u do. holla me bro that beat goes hard

  • xXKonvictMuzikXx: Short answer is yes. PM me for the long answer. Notice the first set of flips I do in the beginning of the vid. I'm emphasizing the downbeat in my flip. When I create my drum track, I place the kicks with the downbeat of the sample flip.

  • great job man! keep it up Brother cuz da shit is dope! 1 luv

  • right from the sample at the beginning i knew it would be good, but that was just incredible...great use of talent

  • nice video & beat.

I was wondering tho, how do you slice en chop the sample? In Reason or do you ease an other edit program?

  • im guessin he used the recycle program and imported it into reason on the dr. rex..

  • Almost...I used a program called Zero-X BeatCreator (sample chopping) and imported into the NNXT (more control of the samples).

  • dude is fire god damn, i have a question. can yu use the mpd 32 wit reason 3.0.4. 'nd whats the name of the workstation youre using. wit the mpd32

  • I'm using Reason 4 running on an AMD64 PC that I built, MPD32, M-Audio Oxygen 8 v2

Not sure if you can use the MPD32 with Reason3. Check to see if it shows up in the list of control surfaces under Preferences > Keyborads and Control Surfaces > Click 'Add' button > Manufacturer: Akai > Model
