Is that a Chinese made variac? I have seen very similar apearing units of Chinese origin being offered at very reasonable prices for their rating but I have been alittle reluctant to to commit based upon a fear of potential poor build quality and ability to actually realise claimed specs. Hows yours been for you?
@spinctah Ive ripped them apart before. They are built very good, love the quality. I got it on ebay for like, $120 or so? Cheap! 150VAC, 30A rated, with a 25A fuse. I have pumped 20A at the most through this, and I have no complaints. I'm not a fan of screw-down terminals on the front, the lack of a 120V plug, and no grounding. But, mods can fix that.
