  • I'm looking to apply for PA school but need some direct patient care experience prior to that. This video was quite funny (as are several other CNA vs nurse videos here), but it kinda makes me want to stay clear of LNA/CNA

work and pick up EMT-B certification instead...

  • @Riddley313 Being a CNA is a pretty good way to get patient experience. Especially when it comes to making people feel like you give a crap. Just do your research on facilities before you go looking for a job. I made all my videos on this account while I was working at a REALLY crummy hospital. I haven't made any since I left there simply because I don't have any material to work with at my new job, lol.

  • Yes, believe me I understand that many Care Techs(cna's) have problems with delegation, especially since authority changes hands everyday. Many cna's also have no idea how hard it is to chart everything properly and still do all the physical things Rn's need to do. Cna's often mistake charting as "sitting on they azzz". But my vids are specifically things I encountered. I do what's asked of me. I give a crap. I'm a kick-ass CNA.

  • Besides that, The hospital would begin losing a lot more money if they paid ME overtime for staying over and charting because I was doing tasks that a tech was perfectly capable of doing, but rather than standing there and arguing with them for 5 minutes, I did it myself.

  • It's sad to say, I know nurses that act like this, maybe a little less exaggerated. I also know techs that all they do is question why delegation is appropriate when a nurse assumes full responsibility, and care for their patients. I mean, yes I CAN go do that EKG in room 12, but while I'd like for that to be done soon, I'm also trying to sedate a patient so there BP ISN'T 180/106, and their hands, even with restraints, are working their way towards their ETT.

  • son of a bitch

  • my girlfriend works as a cna, and i can tell you, just from the stories and what i've picked up, and her reaction to this video, this shit is srsly FUNNY.

    srsly. in so many ways

  • oh this is awesome! too funny man!

  • My mind is really blown at how this video has taken off in a short period of time. Thanks for the kind words and the views everyone!

  • "I have many things to click on the computer"... really excellent... Nursing has thrown away the baby with the bath water. There isn't a nurse I've met in over 30 years of doing this job, who was better then the Diploma nurse I was mentored by the first 4 years of my nursing career. Bachelor's degree's, computerized nursing etc., - none of that measures up to a nurse making the genuine connection with her patients. Days gone by. SAD!

  • The best is when you're the tele tech watching this go down remotely, and wondering why neither the RN OR the CNA has been in there. Oh right, it's because they're arguing responsibilities in the hallway, haha.

  • THIS, is pretty good.

  • Yep, I remember those days for sure! I swore I would never become a nurse like this!
