@newtonmeters Yes, thats exactly what it does and they keep you up there for over 30 seconds to watch your feet and the height, then comes along T.O.T and rattles the whole thing, it's pretty scary.

evertime i go on this i always do it with no hands anyone who goes on this should if they can go on it when there is only a min of 6 or 7 people because it goes higher and faster thats what happened when we went a couple of months ago it was near closing time and there was only 7 of us on the ride and we touched the top of tower where the metal bar thing is at the top and it also went faster and we got to go a second time as well

just yesterday we had a boy sneak his mobile phone onto the giant drop which i was working at the time, we warned do not take cameras or mobiles onto this ride, he didn't listen, and guess what happened?

when he got to the bottom he looked at his phone and i said to him, trey turn it on now. his entire phone was erased, everything on it was gone it wouldn't even turn on.

Okay dude whoa settle down.

First of all it doesnt stop the breaks from working entirely. Thatd just be stupid, it actually interferes with them meaning it causes the magnets(breaks) to react at a slower and less powerful rate, meaning it wont stop at the correct censored position it is ment to which means it will shut itself down which means the riders will be stuck there in there probibly tight as all fuck harnesses then it will......

.....take half an hour to reset the ride, a further 5 minutes to manually unlock the harnesses then pull the car back to its correct position run it for saftey purposes wait for the all clear from a technician and then finally allow people back on it All because some fuckwit thought he would be cool and make everyone miss out on possibly an hour of ride time. Secondly, i search these videos because i love these rides as does most of my colleges.

actually the ride has very very strong magnets, just to show you how strong they are if two poles ever met they would be whinched apart also the magnest life is 1.2 million years plus when the tower of terror's magnets operate they double dreamworld power usage (enough to power a small town(2,200,000 watts and a energy saving light bolb only used 20 wats )) so that just an ide of what happens when you put a camera on that ride

I think the Tower of Terror is a waste of time... I like all the other rides... but the tower of terror is like going on a roller coaster in a straight line, then up virtically without doing the full loop, and then going backwards the opposite direction, I don't find it very entertaining... Giant Drop is awesome though :)

when I went on that it broke cause the train is meant to stop at the queue but the magnets had a problem and we stopped just before the big machine at the back (1 m away) and the ride was shut down for the day. the scary bit was, was seeing the queue fly right past us then us suddenly just stopping and ive been on it more than 14 times same withgiant drops

you stopped about 1m from the back wall coz there was a powercut or sumthin. the TOT uses electromagnet brakes so that the stop isnt abrupt. coz the electromagnet brakes failed, the car went past the queue and into the "bog" zone. the bog zone has powerful earth magnets in it that cant fail. when the car went over these it instantly was pulled towards them, causing the abrupt stop. the TOT is a failsafe ride, so that in the event of a powercut/other electrical fault the ride will still be safe.
