Whether or not I can (and trust me I don't want to) play like this has no relevance here. I don't like his tone or how he seems to think playing fast = playing good. Not everything needs to be filled with shred, in fact it gets boring and samey after the first minute or so of tremolo picked scales.

It is an expensive guitar, it's an Ibanez JEM77. A $2500 dollar guitar, look it up. You're also missing my point, whether or not I can play this has no relevance to my opinion that it's not that great. Also, no I'm not a "wannabe guitar player" I'm a bassist. What he's doing here is mindless shred. It seems like guitar hero has ingrained in every 13 year old's brain nowadays is that fast guitar playing = good guitar playing. That's completely wrong, there are so many aspects besides speed.
