@andylovsU Kurt and Rachel's friendship is so stereotypical to television though. Usually they put theater kids together in all shows which is boring and not worth watching. That's why kurtcedes was so refreshing. They're different so they can teach each other about both showtunes and R&B. Rachel and Kurt are too alike to not try to kill each other anyway, which they were doing for the past two seasons. Now that they are friends, it's like watching Will & Grace or Sharpay and Ryan lol.

@ThesakuracardCCS There wasn't anything wrong with Mercedes competing for the role of Maria in 'West Side Story,' neither was there anything wrong with Mercedes (who played a strong antagonist in this episode) asking Rachel to hug her after she won the part.

For Mercedes, it was important for the character to know whether or not Rachel would happily congratulate her after winning the part of Maria, as she had done countless of times when Rachel headed numberous musical shows for Glee.
