When I lived in South FL I listened to "The Paul and Young Ron" radio show. These guys supported Carlos Mencia's when his career began and had him on regularly. They were so proud when he got his show and had him on once again to congratulate him. They told him about this sketch they did called "The Stereotype Olympics" and told him he should do it on the show as long as he makes sure to plug them, but he never did.

And you can't say it's just Rogan's style. Lewis Black is angry and abrasive but at least he knows how to make it funny even if you don't agree with him. Same with Kinison. They didn't try to abuse the audience and pick fights because they couldn't control themselves and had a childish need to "win" no matter what. I don't know if I believe it or not. I used to like Joe Rogan but he gets into so many fights with audience members and everyone else that it's hard to take him seriously. He's just so abrasive and angry even in his personal life. You can see it in his interviews and behind the scenes stuff. His comedy just deteriorates into telling everyone (even his fans) why they suck if they don't agree with HIM 100%. He's like the douche at the bar who's picking fights just to be a douche.
