Furthermore, even if the venom was also poisonous and thus harmful when swallowed, it would still be vastly slower to act if swallowed than if injected directly via bite. It's not even close.

@LupusCaelestis i've been bitten 3 times in the arm hiking by eastern diamondback and i was 4and a half miles away from home and my only choice for survival was to suck out as much venom as i can when i got to the hospital i only needed 1 unit of anti venom and if you keep the bottom of your tongue away its not potential life threatening.
