  • @NightIllDie666 They weren't classics when they were around..

  • @MrMiniGiraffe sadly but people didnt know the impact they would leave down the road

  • @NightIllDie666 that has to be the dumbest comment i have ever read. Because they are old (classic) they rust.

Thats like saying >> how can you let your grandma lose her teeth? -.-

  • @cd24567890 You mad?!

  • Congratulations on bringing an "almost write off" back to life!

  • pretty nice, i just got done restoring a 68 charger i pulled out of a pond. it was in the pond for about 10 years, pulled it out and it looked good except the quarter pannels were rusted thru and alot of surface rust. but keep up the restoration videos man!

  • @philipanselmmo

I want to see this pond Charger. 68 is my favorite year Charger.

  • @philipanselmmo could you tell me how much would it cost? i want to buy a 1968 charger rear quarter panels are rusted thru and the only thing that has a lot of surface rust is the vinyl roof... and the floor has rust in it and no engine the body looks solid. besides the rear quarter panels it almost has no rust... is 4000$ worth it ? please reply i really want to know . Thanks! i could send you a picture if you want.

  • @derick4767 Check the frame before you do anything. 68's are a rare piece, and $4000 for a solid body and frame isn't a bad price, but try talking the guy down a little.

If you're doing a serious resto, 4k is only the beginning - but if you just want a driver and you're doing most of the work yourself, the biggest investment will be all the hours required and finding an engine/tranny. Check the donor yards, they often have old 727's and wedges for little $.

  • @philipanselmmo do like challengers grow in ponds around your place?? cuz i want one aswell:)

  • how much did you pay for your challenger if you dont mind me asking, I just bought my 1971 charger project car, in I'd say a little bit better condition than yours for 1300.00. It has 440 and a 727 trans

  • @fordmuscle429 3000 for the Challenger, but the Challenger does not compare in anyway to a 71 Charger, but if I had to buy a 71+ Charger I would choose the 71 hands down, plus having a 440 is a nice bonus.

  • @sprprops 3000 for a challenger? around here you can buy a challenger shell for around 9-10 thousand when the planets align and the find a 4 leaf clover....

  • @sprprops Lol the Challenger doesn't compare how? I think they're 10 times better....

  • @fordmuscle429 man there is no way i would pay 3000 for that challenger... regardless of year and motor installed... that car was way to rusted and the fact that it didnt run was way to expensive for 3k...

  • @SlayNfillet360 Yeah i can understand your reasoning, one plus of that car though was it looked like the fenders and quarters were in good shape. At least good enough shape to not need new ones (but i cant say that for sure unless seeing it in person lol). But it is an R/T which to me is a huge bonus, ive seen R/T's worse than that with price tags of like 6k lol. I think he got a GOOD deal not a GREAT one, kind of the same deal i got with my charger

  • thank you so much for bringing one of these beautiful cars back. i haven't been this happy in years. thank you so much

  • Rust does not hinder the repair of that car;] is a classic

  • sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet emooooooooooooooooooootioooooooooonn !

    Aerosmith !

  • If you put in the effort and the time

    Its all fixable.

  • looks like you're off to a great start!!

  • I say go for it dude! Lots of rust there, but if you got the money to fix her up? you would have a sweet ass ride! But, if you have the money? Just go out and buy one. There are deals on Challengers, if you look. I stole a 1973, 340 in 09!!! Best move i ever made.!

  • how much u want for the piece of crap...lol,serously

  • @kingofcars101 that piece of crap is probebly worth more then what your driving

  • @DIMEBAGJIMMY426 good cauz im not driving anything

  • @kingofcars101 why am i not surprised that you dont have a car ? hmm cause its easy to talk shit about someones elses car when you dont no what they cost or are worth

  • @DIMEBAGJIMMY426 umm acually im getting a car... its a 1966 pontiac gto star chief executive... its got interior and a motor! it also runs, i drove it today

  • @kingofcars101 HA ! dont add gto to the name to try and make it sound like a good car cause you dont have a gto you got a big slow boat that isent worth shit, you call this challenger a piece of shit and to rebuttle you come back with you getting a real piece of shit im not impressed, your probebly full of shit anyway

  • @DIMEBAGJIMMY426 acually i do have a gto, im gunna buy it tomorrow...so what ever

  • @kingofcars101 you said star chief executive its a pontiac but FAR from a goat, but if lieing helps you sleep at night ill go along with you, im buying a hemi charger a hemi cuda and a hemi challenger tomorrow aswell o maybe ill buy a few superbirds too idk it depends on my mood, HA !!

  • @DIMEBAGJIMMY426 you know... i hope get ass raped by some fat ass hairy guy in jail, im done talking to you... ever

  • @kingofcars101 thank you for proveing my theory that you was just a kid talking nonsense, you should change your name you dont know dick about cars unless your going for a ironic name like a fat guy named tiny, as for the me getting ass raped in jail not likely to happen im very smart about my questionable activities, this wouldent of happened if you hadent called this mopar a piece of shit now you look stupid for all the youtubers you so despritly want to impress, have a great day

  • @kingofcars101 that is what we call a "project car" you idiot. what do you think after 39 yrs of being driven and then sitting its gunna be rust free? if you look at cars like that and make comments like that was well, you shouldn't even be allowed to be near a muscle car.

  • @kingofcars101 Hahah, you're a troll if I've ever seen one..

  • Ghost of Kowalski RIP Great car

  • a good song to go with the vid

  • yea i saw that. brown right? it was owned by gordie howe too. wow that article was a long as time ago.

  • Excellent :)

  • if u think it takes pimp my ride to restor a car in like a few hours

  • Looking good. Original B5? or is that plumb or just plumb crazy parts? it looks like B5. A B5 340 71 Chally is a great optioned car. $ speed would of been nice but the auto will be fine. I Dont know why that one guys said make it a 440 clone, keep it a 340 id say if its original 340 car. Cant wait to see pics of it done, keep at it.

  • Looking forward to an update on the restoration! Keep at it!

  • Good thing someone still saves pieces of junk. So am I :). I'm now restoring a 74 vw bus, a 74 vw passat LS, a 68 GTV bug and it's verry rewarding.

    Keep up the good work!

  • The 340 was available for the R/T in 1971 so it would be correct to have a 340 in an R/T. This doesn't matter anyway because I have a 383 out of a Road Runner that is going into it.

  • good i think the 383s need more credit haha i have a 70 thats pretty bad weve done the roof and the floors and the windsheild frame(i dont know what its called) and im gettin a 71 coronet 4 door that im gonna use for parts its a factory 383 and the guys been building it up so thatll be sweet....pretty good for a 16 year old tryin to get away with a cool car for cheap. so far ive put maybe 5k including both cars so not to shabby

  • id say keep it a 340. Be worth more if it were #s matching. Youve got a very nicely optioned challenger, I would keep it as close to original as i could but do what you want with it, its your challenger.

  • a challenger r/t comes with a 383 or 440 i jus wanted to let you know before u put that 340, cause i have 3 of them so if you want it to be worth more clone it with a 440 or 440 6pack.

  • Its going to take lots of work. Make sure you post a video after its done.

    Good luck with your R/T

  • Im only 16 and this is my 3rd car

  • im fifteen and ive been searching for projct cars on the internet. advice or..?

  • Mopars are the most expensive cars to buy as projects and the parts are extremely expensive. Mustang coupes and early camaros seem to be cheaper. Do your homework before you buy and get it as cheap as you can.

  • @sprprops how much it run you in the end?

  • @sprprops I know this is sorta late but, hell to the no are Camaro's cheaper. For a disgusting rat-infested shell, you're lookin at like $5k, if not, EASILY higher. Mustangs are getting there.

  • @sprprops how much did you pay for your challenger if you don't mind me asking, I just bought my 1971 charger project car, in I'd say a little bit better condition body wise than yours for 1300.00. It has 440 and a 727 trans

  • @fordmuscle429 Good job with the charger it will beat all your fords then you will sell all fords and buy all mopars and change your utube name haha

  • @sprprops true but mopars are beautiful cars though

  • @adfasdfasdfluy you can get a good Mustang coupe body for like a grand, add 4000 dollars and a hundred or so hours and you have a nice driver. More money and time and you'd have a great show car. That is about as cheap a "muscle/pony" car you are likely to find.

  • @adfasdfasdfluy

best thing to start out with is an old bug, thats what I first started with at your age.

  • @adfasdfasdfluy i would say start with a foxbody mustang the late 80s early 90s look great plus parts are cheap

  • um, that aint NO r/t with an argent grille and tailpanel. Plus no quarter stock fake scoops. How do I know ? I own 3 1971 Challengers. One R/T 4 spd 383 mag, one vert, and one deputy coupe. Look that one up !

  • Yes, but do you own a M28 Challenger, I don't think so

  • can i have one of them 3 71's off you :P looks a state, glad you are restoring to original!!

  • What were the specific mods on the M28 Challenger's?

  • They have 1 off fenders and the rare wide hood and fender chrome trim

  • Hmmmmmmm........ I've probably saw one but I didn't know what it was... O_O

  • I would never let a 16 year old drive this nice of a car. Wait until you're 21 when you get experience in driving. between 16-21, drive a crap car because accidents are inevitable.

  • man that thing looked pretty rotted, it will look great once it's done though. are you going to restore it to original or are you going to drag race it or resto mod it? great video and I glad to see some of these cars are being saved.[btw, what color are you going to paint it?]

  • Back to mostly original with the exception of black interior, a luggage rack, black 70 tailstripe, and possibly a 440
