  • shes fucking cute i want her for christmas

  • finally a female athlete on here doing the full range...

  • However, I encourage anyone who doubts this to talk to an experienced olympic lifting coach, or to anyone w knee problems from squatting heavy. They will most likely tell you they squatted to parallel.

You don't have to squat ass-to-calves, especially with your bodyweight in iron on your back, but it is advisable to go slightly past the 90 degree point. You will build more explosive strength this way as well.

  • Simple physics can be used to explain why squatting to parallel is actually WORSE for your knees than going past parallel.

Torque is applied about a point of rotation (P.O.R.) when the perpendicular distance (lever arm) from the P.O.R. to the point where force is applied is at a max.

In the case or squatting, your your thigh acts as the lever, and your trunk/hips is the point where downward force is applied. When you squat to parallel, you are applying the max possible torque to your knees

  • need bulk flexibility.

  • How many reps does one usually do to get a good workout? 20?

  • I see the Pistol more as a conditioning exercise, and a great one at that. The flexibility, focus, stability, and drive required to perform these in good form should have some good carryover in plenty of other arenas.

  • i would love to feel her ass

  • This is really bad for your knees, please don't do single leg pistols, it will damage your knee joints in the long term

  • @carlotapuig says who? "carlotapuig" on youtube? ok i'll never do another pistol squat again!

  • My dad can do this AND he's pretty fat.... Im like wtf?

  • lol just tried this and had a big fail

but my legs are sore from my workout and cardio

  • Wow you are very strong!

  • Pistol legged squats can be bad for your knee joints. So i'd recommend not to go below parallel to avoid sustaining any injuries.

  • @EliteEspeon Are you saying that the knee joint is not made to bend below parallel?

  • @Reisepoff no. You could go below parallel but you're more likely to njure yourself. Besides, not going below parallel spurs more muscle fibres (in both the legs and upper body).

  • FUCK THE POLICE....hahaha yeah cool song

  • Very good. Please look up Horizontal Leg Pistol JuciNeni

You will see more of what I'm looking for. Please let me know if you or anyone can do what I'm asking for. I left a comment for Juci and you can read my parameters there. Thanks. I would also like to see someone do this with the forehead pressed against the knee the whole way. No resting at the bottom.

  • @LochlanachViking

It seems like it is very hard on the knees ... I can finally do these myself after a lot of work ... I think it might be worth building one's balance and core strength till one can do this sort of thing, but at some point the routine should be retired. I don't think I will keep doing them for overlong.

I say they do have some athletic bonuses;I definitely think I can run a bit faster now ...

  • seems more girls can do this

  • Help, I can go down all the way, my bone and shin stop me from doing it? I have stretch it, but I can go down, is my shin to long? I have long shins.

  • OMG talk about perfect form.

  • Gotta love the song in the background hahaha fuck the police...

    nice work though.

  • How much more than your weight would you have to be able to barbell squat in order to have the strength to do pistols?

  • you could squat twice your weight and still not be able to do this if you don't have muscular stability, balance, and core strength

  • No, it's not about strength but balance. Considered them as two totally different exercises that work fairly similar muscles. So don't even bother comparing them. I know what I'm talking about since I can pistol squat 30 kg..

  • @mla1108 and you could do this and not be able to squat twice your weight either...

  • @dm325 You are absolutely right. I just did a test for football and I weigh 207 lbs. and squated 415. I can do 1 maybe 2 of these pistol squats each leg but they are slow and very difficult.

  • @mla1108 true man, I have never actually heard of this exercise, I squat 315, but can't even do one of these !

  • but you could also do this and not be able to squat twice your weight...

  • @mla1108

And you could do a ton of those and still not squat double your body weight. If you wanna do fancy stuff do this, if you want strength do squats.

  • @mla1108 Or you could do that and not squat 2x. It goes the other way around too. It doesn't have that much of a carryover into athleticism in my experience.

  • @mla1108

You can't squat twice your weight without muscular stability (whatever that is), balance, and core strength

  • @mla1108 if you can squat twice your weight you have more than enough core strenght believe me :)

  • @mla1108 I can do over 10 pistols on each leg and now I'm doing them on top of BOSU ball--who cares about super-heavy squats? Only elephant-like ugly stiff square-looking people who can't move to save their life (zero functional fitness). I jump a lot for dancing and squats are complete and utter crap.

  • @xanyxxxx Squats work many muscle groups at the same time + lifting something straight up is an every day move in many industries especially if you work in a logistics or assembly type of job so I wouldn't call it zero funcitonal. It is definitely a muscle mass building exercise so I can understand that women want to avoid it ;).

I do vertical jumps too (in addition heavy sets) they're much better for agility and conditioning. This is just from a guy's point of view:).

  • @mla1108 Which only proves that it's a circus trick and not a real strength movement.

  • @mla1108 also This Hurts in the leg in a different way, i can do this on my TOES you hear me, with straight back, 1 foot toes, Thats hardcore Back training ;)

  • It's two totally different exercises. i used to be able to pistol squat while holding 30 kg (about 70 lbs) and when I tried to squat could only do about 200 lbs. Now I can squat 400 lbs and use pistol squat as a warm up. My calculation of twice body weight plus twice amount of weight added turned out to be completely off the mark. squat for mass and strength, pistol squat for balance and some strength.
