I like Morrissey as a singer-songwriter, but as a person he seems very full of himself. He and Marr were definitely the creative force behind The Smiths, but I don't think people give enough credit to Andy Rourke and Mike Joyce. It is my understanding that songwriting royalties were never an issue in that court case, just recording and touring royalties. Couldn't that whole mess have been completely avoided if Rourke and Joyce each got 25 percent in the first place?
