I was going to do 3.73s in my 06, since I have 3.31s, but I said screw it. 4.10s are ordered and go in next weekend. From what I have read you actually get BETTER around town MPG with the 4.10s.
You know, for a little more cash they sell individual gear ratios for each gear. In my opinion, first gear is too long, second gear is too short, and third gear is too long. It would run a few nickels short of a grand to get individual ratios, but, our cars sure could use 'em.
I have an 06 with 4.10s, Hurst Short-Throw, Custom pipes, cold air intake and chipped. The 4.10's are fun and the car screams! Not very good if you have a long commute though - 12mpg and high rpms all the time, even when cruising in 5th gear.
that is very odd...i have an 05 mustang with 4.10s, hurst short throw, muffler delete, sct tune, K&N CAI, BBK throttle body...i have a commute every day and i average 22 mpgs even with my lead foot?!
I agree that is odd... I have an 05 with 4.10s borla stinger exhaust with bassani catless x pipe and diablo tune and my avg is 18 mpg with mostly stop and go driving. and with the occasional (daily) rabbit takeoffes. lol the 4.10's didn't even really affect my avg mpg. I suppose in town it wouldn't really.
hey, this is a bit off topic, but how do you like the stingers and off road xpipe? in car drone? how loud. i have pypes muffler delete which i do like, but i always want more. check out the vid if you want.
I checked out ur vid. ur car doesn't sound bad at all... but I do really like that borla's in car isn't that bad once you are at cruising speed, especially with the windows up. I also have a video that you are more than welcome to check out.
@daltonguy15 I have the 3.73 on my GT 2006, I think its OK for High speed it bring you more tpo speed, but in 1/4 mile 4.10 give's you more aceleration... See ya
@daltonguy15 howd the install go? did you go with the 410's? i got some but havent got them installed yet cuz theycame with a chip on one of the gears (on the pinion) and ford wont respond to replace it . Big suprise, i know.
Nice! Running 4.10s on my 06 too, and 1st gear is practically worthless now for everyday driving, but what a blast. Torque multiplication is fun, fun, fun.

How´s in High speed with the 4.10? I have a 3.73 and my top speed is about 260-270 KMS/HR.

The best mileage I've ever gotten - all open road and short-shifting is 19 mpg. Don't know how you are getting 22 - good for you!

Something is seriously wrong with your car if you're getting 12mpg with 4.10s. My mach with bolt-ons/tune/ 4.10s gets about 25mpg on the highway.

Ive riddin in 2 cars with 373s and trust me its not even worth it. go for the 410's, youll love it. Plus it makes 5th gear usable around town.
