Well, I don't consider The Motion Picture as being TOS. After all, TOS stands for The Original SERIES, not The Motion Picture (TMP). I 'm just saying that TOS music would fit the bill, not TMP music.
@TrueMercun That is TOS music; that's the theme from The Motion Picture; granted, by then, the Enterprise had been refitted with a late 23rd-century deflector dish and upgraded nacelles, but this was always the theme for the so-called Gray Lady.
The original model at the smithsonian was raped by Ed Miarecki, the man in charge of its restoration. If I were any of you, I wouldn't compare this model with that anymore. The gridlines were extremely thin.
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE your model! But as for the saucer grid pattern, you can see it on the original E hanging in the Smithsonian. I've seen it- the grid is there! It's also on the sketches of the Enterprise shown in The Making of Star Trek book, by Gene Rodenberry, and another author
@NCC63549 The "Irwin Allen" of the 21st century does not care nor Paramount as all they see star trek as a "cash (quatloos) cow". Agree with you about that "frog" and the story made no sense. The writers of the new star trek film were not a very creative lot and instead of admitting there needed help all they do is complain; " the old star trek is to restrictive and we want to make up something totally different---that is was; totally illogical different!
The original Enterprise had a "grid"pattern on the upper surface of the saucer. I had the original AMT model kit back in the 60's, as well as the book "The Making of Star Trek," which contains original sketches and drawings of the Enterprise Both of these sources have the grid. Despite that, the model is truly awsome!
Actually the original filming model DID NOT have the grid lines. They were added at the tail end of the last season and, as I have read, they were only done in pencil. Aopparently they never got around to finalizing them... so, having said that, this model is pretty accurate to the production one used during the run of the show.
whats with the TNG theme?

IT DOESN'T HAVE THE RIBBING OR CIRCULAR LINES ON THE UPPER SAUCER! Major error, although I admit, the only thing I didn't like...

mpd1958 This is the tos enterprise, it's not supposed to.

They're called "Broussard" collectors, after the physicist who thought of them.
