I think there are very few people who watched Azula go insane that DIDN'T want to give her a hug... I felt sooo bad for her in the end! It would've been better if it wasn't Katara who brought her down in the end, though. It really should have been Zuko... grr!!

ohh. the beach episode, mai, ty-lee, azula and zuko went to amber island for a vacation while the firelord made some war plans, he didnt want them around. and on amber island zuko tells them that being back in the fire nation dosnt feel right. its a good episode, if you can, try and watch it, explains alot :)

The best sibling Rivalry I have seen was Itachi/Sasuke. But their story got all screwed up towards the end. but you know what? It was still pretty cool, this was still Badass!
I'm not sure what you mean by Azula being neglected by her mom. There's nothing in the series to suggest that their mother was Neglecting Azula.
I can see it being more Azula avoiding her mother, possibly because she WAS so favored by her father. Her hallucinations are probably more than accurate. Towards the end, she was going through a lot that had to do with having no one to trust. And betraying your mother is a serious thing by that count.
Hase: Did u WATCH avatar??? Azula was told by her own mother that she was a monster (ep. beach) plus the fact that in another episode she's seen looking at Azula coldly. Plus the fact that Azula's mom said goodbye only to Zuko and not the Azula. Azula doesn't AVOID her mom!!! Her mother just kept pushing her away because she was becoming more and more like Ozai. Jealous of Zuko getting their mother's attention and instead sought her fathers... (which obviouslyi sn't really healthy) made her into who she is.
The fear that her mother and others couldn't or didn't love her (other than in fear), was something she perceive wrong and imperfect with herself (we all know she dislikes imperfection) and she just couldn't cope with it, especially with everything else she had worked on crashing around her.
I think it was the relisation for Azula that despite her talents and power Zuko would always prevail because he had people that loved him that finally snapped her mind at the end.
Simple. His isn't refined. He's come a far way thanks to Iroh's training and learning The Dancing Dragon, but he just barely surpassed Azula in the Agni Kai. If she was sane, it'd probably be a tie. If you see her firebending as a child, you'll realize her flame wasn't blue back then. Being a perfectionist and a prodigy, she probably took her fire to another level.
That sounds like a plausible theory to me, but it wouldn't explain why Ozai and Iroh's flames aren't blue as well, and they're supposed to be very powerful firebenders (or at least, pretty superior to Azula). So my best bet is that the creators decided on something special regarding Azula.
It also makes it easier to determine between Azula's and Zuko's flames. When they fight against each other with all the comlicated actions, it can be hard to figure out who's fire is attacking. But i agree, it could also just be to give her something special XD
It could just be that they didn´t see a need to. Blue flame might burn hotter but there´s probably little point since a normal flame is already damaging. and if you want something truely destructive, then you can just lightening it.
because just like how the dragons can change their flame when they want, zuko just chose to keep his the same color *(Azula wanted her blue flame to stand out to show she's special))
That's incorrect. If so, then why isn't Ozai's or Iroh's fire blue? Her fire is just more refined. Lightning is not the source of firebending, but rather a subskill, like metalbending for earthbending and bloodbending for waterbending.

I'm not sure what you mean by Azula being neglected by her mom. There's nothing in the series to suggest that their mother was Neglecting Azula.
I can see it being more Azula avoiding her mother, possibly because she WAS so favored by her father. Her hallucinations are probably more than accurate. Towards the end, she was going through a lot that had to do with having no one to trust. And betraying your mother is a serious thing by that count.

Hase: Did u WATCH avatar??? Azula was told by her own mother that she was a monster (ep. beach) plus the fact that in another episode she's seen looking at Azula coldly. Plus the fact that Azula's mom said goodbye only to Zuko and not the Azula. Azula doesn't AVOID her mom!!! Her mother just kept pushing her away because she was becoming more and more like Ozai. (ignoring you child, demeaning them and rejecting them can be considered neglect.)

...She always made fun of him when the two were little, also called him by his hated nickname "Zuzu", was always sarcastic when speaking to him and was even teasing him when she was "warning" him that their dad was going to kill him. Not to mention, she also tried deceiving him to come back to the Fire Nation only so he could be put into prison. He's mean because Azula was mean to him and well, if he backs down, they'll have a powerhungry ruler. XD They're both mean to each other, though. XD

Jealous of Zuko getting their mother's attention and instead sought her fathers... (which obviouslyi sn't really healthy) made her into who she is.
The fear that her mother and others couldn't or didn't love her (other than in fear), was something she perceive wrong and imperfect with herself (we all know she dislikes imperfection) and she just couldn't cope with it, especially with everything else she had worked on crashing around her.

I think it was the relisation for Azula that despite her talents and power Zuko would always prevail because he had people that loved him that finally snapped her mind at the end.

Simple. His isn't refined. He's come a far way thanks to Iroh's training and learning The Dancing Dragon, but he just barely surpassed Azula in the Agni Kai. If she was sane, it'd probably be a tie. If you see her firebending as a child, you'll realize her flame wasn't blue back then. Being a perfectionist and a prodigy, she probably took her fire to another level.

That sounds like a plausible theory to me, but it wouldn't explain why Ozai and Iroh's flames aren't blue as well, and they're supposed to be very powerful firebenders (or at least, pretty superior to Azula). So my best bet is that the creators decided on something special regarding Azula.

It also makes it easier to determine between Azula's and Zuko's flames. When they fight against each other with all the comlicated actions, it can be hard to figure out who's fire is attacking. But i agree, it could also just be to give her something special XD

It could just be that they didn´t see a need to. Blue flame might burn hotter but there´s probably little point since a normal flame is already damaging. and if you want something truely destructive, then you can just lightening it.

That's incorrect. If so, then why isn't Ozai's or Iroh's fire blue? Her fire is just more refined. Lightning is not the source of firebending, but rather a subskill, like metalbending for earthbending and bloodbending for waterbending.
